Guava Tree café specializes in Latin American (e. g., Cuban) sandwiches. They're really tasty. But it's a small, tight place -- so best to plan on eating outdoors or taking your order with you.

I love going here every time. I try to recommend it to everyone asks of places to go in Albuquerque. More people should visit this gym. The menu is small and easy to handle with great food no matter what you order. Everyone who works here is friendly and willing to accommodate any edit to the food you may want.... More

I at lunch at this small cafe/restaurant twice over the period of a few days. The handmade arepas are delicious and I could easily eat here every day. I enjoyed dining alfresco and being a block or two off of Central Avenue made for a relaxing experience on the patio. They have sandwiches and juices that looked really yummy, too.... More

Staff are very accommodating--willing to explain items on the menu, make slight adjustments if needed and give a taste before ordering. Tasty sauces; nice smoothies; unique ingredients.

Guava Tree was our favorite meal while traveling in New Mexico. The quality of ingredients is very good, and the flavor combinations are fantastic. They make authentic foods with a small gourmet twist. Additionally they have wonderful vegetarian choices, which is hard to find with most latin or new mexican food. My (meat eating) husband got the vegetarian arepa and... More

Went is Sunday morning, after reading all the awesome reviews, im really no impressed place was too crowded for the personnel they have, so i waited 45 min for a Cuban Sandwich, which was ok, not the best like all those reviews said, consider i spended years in Miami. Prices are fair and the lady behind the counter was nice.... More

We had excellent authentic Cuban sandwiches in a quirky environment. Would definitely return when in Albuquerque. The staff was helpful, but I wish my Spanish was better. The yucca fries were quite delicious.

Guava Tree has become my "go to" place in Albuquerque when I'm hungry for a Cubano. In my opinion, it's the best I've ever had...and the sandwich is always consistently great. Had dinner there with my wife, daughter, and son-in-law and all the other menu items we tried were fantastic--arepas, tostones, yucca fries, salads. The only objection I had with... More

With construction on Central it's a little hard to get to, but so worth it. Sandwiches are huge. Their tea is spicy and delicious.

One of my stops when I travel to ABQ for work. Been sending people their way ever since I tried it first, to make sure more people know about this great option.

A great little spot to taste authentic flavors of the Caribbean, Central and South America, made from scratch daily. Share, meet new people, and talk Spanish to the friendly staff. Take it home, call in from work, and come back. Repeat!
