Even tho we live in nearby town, we had not been to Downtown Macon in years..So on a doctor's visit day we looked up eating places in Macon and headed for The Rookery. It was a great meal! On the street parking at 6pm was a bit challenging to find a space, but didn't have to walk far. We were... More

Absolutely one of the best burgers I have ever tasted. Juicy and flavorful and cooked to perfection! I had the James Brown black and bleu and it was outstanding. A go-to spot for sure.

I live in Macon and Atlanta, when I find myself in Macon for the weekend and in need of a good burger, this is my place.

A definite place to get a bit if you ever find yourself in macon. Downtown's best place to get a drink and eat for sure. Lunch isn't typically too busy ( I highly recommend the Little Richard patty melt) and dinner is worth the wait. The best part is the adult milkshakes! They have 3 on the menu but if... More

As good as ever! It's been many years since I have been here, but it's still just as good, if not better, than I remember it. Stopped back by on my way through town recently. It's one of Macon's best places to grab a good meal and beer with friends. Downtown location with excellent atmosphere and local flare. Mostly pub... More

I finally deviated from the steak sandwich (which is great) to get something new. Betsy's Grilled Pimento Cheese sandwich is very rich, but soooo good! Homemade pimento cheese with bacon and tomatoes, grilled on rye bread with hand cut fries!! I am not a fan of mayonnaise so any pimento cheese is worrisome for me, but I had tasted The... More

Really enjoyed our visit at The Rookery last night. Ordered fried pickles before dinner. BEST friend pickles we've ever had. During dinner, you should try one of the juicy cheeseburgers, and after dinner, order a homemade milkshake. If you want a great waiter, then ask for David. He is very friendly and knowledgeable!

Based on the wait, this must be the place to go in Macon. Burgers were good. My husband had a shake that was very good, but certainly would have appreciated more shake and less whipped cream. I realize we were downtown, so prices are higher, but $30 for two burgers, fries, an upgrade to onion rings on one, plus a... More

Been in Macon for almost 4 years and finally experienced the rookery - food was great! Burger I ordered was very tasty and fresh. The waiter (forgot his Name need to look on my ticket) was the only down side. He was nice but was a bit rushing and even took my Friends plate before she was finished (guess asking... More

Hubby's Jerry Reed burger was really good. All the burgers had names and unusual condiments to make them different. I had the Fried Green BLT and it was tasty. Could have had more bacon for my liking. House chips were a good side. They also have milkshakes that all sounded delish. They are super thick and creamy.
