Food was served family style with generous amounts and good quality. When you walk in you're greeted by the family and you feel as if they really care about every bite that goes into your mouth. Then we visited for lunch, a local group came to play adding to the delightful atmosphere.
The sons of the owners of this lovely restaurant provide a smiling welcome as you enter! I was there with a group on March 18, 2016, for our "farewell" dinner after a visit touring Cuba. You enter the restaurant through a passageway, and then the lovely dining room comes into view. The decor is very nicely done, and table lamps... More
As is typical in Cuba, we were served abundant amounts of tasty food - some of the more creative dishes, during our tour (Road Scholar). The service, spacious dining area and accompanying music, made this a very pleasant lunch experience.
Lovely restaurant built by the family, who we met. The food was good and served family style. There was a variety of dishes for most tastes and they accommodated the vegan in the group. Very good service with lovely music that was played during out lunch.
A superior paladar, operated by a family with a special commitment--and talent--for creating a memorable dining experience. It was clearly the best and most accomplished paladar we experienced during seven days in Cuba.

One of our group's favorites! And, of course, we were entertained by... More
We had lunch at D'Carmelina as part of a tour in January 2016. The food was served family style at a long table. There were many different kinds of food offered including appetizers and main courses. And it was all excellent. We ate at a number of privately owned restaurants in Cuba and this one was perhaps the best of... More
This Paladar is run by the whole family that owns it. It is a private restaurant. The food was wonderful and portions large and served family style. Service was friendly and professional. It is totally evident how much pride the family takes in their wonderful restaurant. There is also a Cuban combo that plays during diner adding to the authentic... More
Was brought to D'Carmelina for lunch lunch by the tour guide of a group of Americans visiting Cuba. The traditionally Cuban food was exceptionally well prepared and presented to the group in more than ample portions and accompanied by music performed by three young local musicians who were, in my opinion, really good and well enjoyed. The host is the son... More
