We stayed overnight in a B&B that is associated with the Rosedale B&B in Placentia, just above the Philip's Cafe. Breakfast was very good, french toast, maple syrup, fruit, and coffee. Nicely done, we met other couples from the Rosedale while having breakfast. The view of the harbour was magnificent.

Had a delicious breakfast of quiche as part of B&B package at Rose Manor. Prepared and served by owners who really want to provide an memorable experience for guests. Latte, cappuccino and seconds were offered. They recommended a quick trip to Cape St Mary's before we boarded the ferry and wrote out directions. The trip to Cape St Mary's was... More

Phillips Cafe is not currently open for everyone, but rather is the breakfast locale for guests of the Rosedale B&B. Any one of the breakfast choices are delicious. The yogurt with homemade granola and berries is top notch, and the porridge is super rich and delicious as well. Owner Linda will make any one of a variety of specialty coffees... More

Stopped in for coffee no food. The place looked like it may be shutting down soon. The staff was friendly and offered some travel tips. Met some other tourists. Great stopped to get your latte fix.

Thank you Ryan for your review. The "staff" are actually us - the owners - Philip and Linda. You probably noticed that Philip was not doing very much, as he is waiting for hip and knee surgery, and is only there to help Linda with breakfast for her B&B - Rosedale Manor B&B Inn. Philip had to close the Cafe... More

We visited Placentia as partly of a weekend getaway. We stayed at the Rosedale as part of the stay breakfast was at Phillip's cafe. Great atmosphere. The breakfast was great, coffee beyond expectations and as good as I have had anywhere. Thank you.

When staying at the Rosedale Manor Bed and Breakfast, Philip's Cafe is the later part of the stay. Although presented as a 'gourmet' offering on the website, the special coffee and homemade bread were the only fare that met the boast. The quiche had a dense cake crust with minimal egg content, quite unlike any other quiche I've eaten. The... More

Thank you YYCMRs for your review. Our goal has always been to listen to guests and improve our food and service. Unfortunately I am waiting for hip and knee surgery - the reason for the sale of the Cafe - a building we completely renovated to bring our dream and Philip's Cafe to Placentia. I am sorry you did not... More

Took my son for a quick bite to eat and thoroughly enjoyed the quaint hospitality of this nice little spot after taking the ferry ride from Nova Scotia. Our lunch was excellent the food was great and the coffee was superb.

This is the first review I'm writing about our vacation because I wanted to be sure to give Philip and Linda props for their lovely business. An absolute treat to be there. Delightful ambiance and fantastic food. Above and beyond friendly service and accommodations made for our rather picky young children regarding their oatmeal.
