This was the 3rd time visiting the eating gorilla and after 3 chances this will certainly be my last. Although the food is great quality and the portion sizes are huge, the whole experience is very stressful as a result of the rude staff. The...first time we visited we were advised that the food would be a 45 minute wait. Seeing as it was school holidays we were understanding and decided to wait. We were shown to our table however after 30 minutes of waiting and still not having our drink order taken we decided to ask the waitress if we could simply order drinks to which the waitress rudely replied ‘SHE WILL BE WITH YOU WHEN SHE IS READY’. After this we swiftly left! The second time we visited it was simply for some takeaway cheesecakes. After entering the shop the waitress looked at us and quickly returned back to her conversation with the other waitresses. After trying to get their attention for a while she finally came over and took our order. I asked her what the cheesecake flavour was to which she answered ‘IT SAYS IT ON THE GLASS. YOU CAN READ IT THERE’. I found this very rude as the writing wasn’t clear and it was a simple question. Was a shame as the cheesecakes were delicious! The third and final time again did not go smoothly. One waitress took our order and was really lovely and smiley and although she got our order wrong which meant a further 15 mins (45 mins total) waiting for food from when we ordered we didn’t mind as she was so polite about it. When our food finally arrived it was delivered by another waitress (the same that was rude about the cheesecakes - always wearing denim jumpsuit ). She gave us our food and I asked if we could have some ketchup and mayo to which she rolled her eyes and stormed off. I didn’t think asking for sauces was so inconvenient? I really try to support small vegan businesses but the staff here provide an appalling customer service and give off the impression that they just don’t want to be there! It is a real shame as the price is very reasonable and the food is delicious!More

We drove nearly an hour out of our way to come to this place and it was more than worth it! The food is excellent and the staff were very friendly. The cauliflower bites (both spicy and BBQ) were particularly good so definitely try them!...Thanks very much, see you again soon. Harry.More

Ignore the non showy exterior … this is a REAL gem of a restaurant. My husband and I were in the area and read some good reviews about it so decided to give it a try. We were very, very impressed. Their cauliflower wings are...to die for … SO tasty. In fact everything we tried was truly impressive and very reasonably priced. I am not a vegan or a vegetarian, although I don’t eat a lot of meat. However, I challenge the most ardent carnivore to eat here and not be impressed. Good food is all about flavour and they serve this in spades. Oh yes… and they do amazing cocktails too, and the service is excellent.More

Easily, the best restaurant I have enjoyed. This isn't just beautifully presented, delicious and generously portioned food, but also vanguard in its passion for presenting high quality vegan cuisine which we all should be moving towards. My son and myself, feasted on the sumptuous burgers,...fries and the unsurpassable slushes. If only we had a restaurant like this in St Ives...Thank you so much TEG :)More

I wanted to visit the Eating Gorilla before our holiday started in Wales. Our Airbnb host had recommended them and having looked at their fb page I was keen to go. But then when you have been looking forward to a visit you can often...be disappointed. I need not have worried - the food was some of the best we ate on this holiday. Staff super friendly and just downright nice and helpful and the food exceeded all my expectations. My only regret is we only made it here once during our stay. The Gorilla burger is amazing and the filled pitta delish. The milkshakes were lush. we are a family of five with three grown boys/men who can really eat, especially after a good long walk and we left full and happy. I could t even fit in one of the cakes, much to my disapppoinment. Amazing cafe, anyone on holiday go early in your visit as you’ll then have the time to go again!! 👌👌👌More

Tried this cafe after seeing it reviewed on a YouTube channel! Absolutely delicious vegan food, probably the best we’ve ever had! Cauliflower wings were amazing. We also had homemade coleslaw, fries, “beef” burger and falafel flat bread and some yummy smoothies! Would recommend to anyone,...vegan or not 😄More
