First visit for a while - dont know how we let this one drop off the radar. High tea for 2 was beautiful...freshly made sandwiches of our choice, unlimited tea and the best cakes ever! Staff could not have been more accommodating even providing water for the dog! Children and dogs all enjoyed a good walk and play. This place... More

I've been here quite a few times and the food is always excellent. They've recently had a refit which now makes it one of the best places to have something to eat in the area. The surroundings of the pet cemetery is lovely and peaceful(as you would expect). One of the best things about the tea rooms is that (well... More

Free parking. Great setting within the grounds of the pet cemetery. Ordered Welsh Rarebit. Came with the smallest salad and 1 spoonful of coleslaw. However, tasted very good. I thought it overpriced at just under £5-00 for one slice. Wait time for the bill was too long. Over 20 minutes.

We arrived at the Tea Rooms at 1.00pm having just travelled from Durham. What a very pleasant place to visit. We were seated immediately and our order was taken. Place was busy which was a good sign. We were given our drink order of tea whilst we waited for our food order. I ordered a large all day breakfast which... More

The weather was gorgeous and we had our 4-legged friend with us so we sat outside and enjoyed the view. Waiter / waitress service. We had 2 mugs of tea, a latte and tuna and red onion sandwiches each. I asked for no coleslaw which the waitress noted but it still arrived (hubby ate it)! The bread wasn’t that fresh,... More

Been for lunch today. Must admit I was a bit dubious after reading some of the comments, but so glad we decided to see for ourselves. We were greeted with a warm welcome from the young serving staff. Great choice of food on the menu and the cakes looked amazing. I had the homemade quiche which was so nice... More

We visited today with my disabled mother and my son. We always book a table in advance wherever we go and we were seated in a lovely window seat with gorgeous view. The staff we attentive and the food lovely. My mum got an escort back to the car, which made her day! The tea rooms are not only family... More

After hearing such good reviews, I was really excited to visit the tea rooms. I think its a nice touch that you can pick your own sandwiches as part of the afternoon tea... that wasn't to be and on reflection I think this is a huge part of the issue. Around 15 minutes after ordering the food and still not... More

Now i am the first to complain when something is not right and no eating establishment is going to get it 100% right all of the time, it is just not possible. I have been going to the Tea Rooms for many years and 99.9% of the time i have had a thoroughly good experience. When i have made constructive... More
