Quaint and lively. The food is lovingly prepared and super tasty. The menu is varied and has something for everybody.

A quaint little restaurant in the old town, with no frills, just fabulous food. The menu is on a chalk board, which I understand changes daily depending on availability of produce, and everything is cooked in a tiny kitchen at the back of the bar....Between four of us we had 6 dishes which were all delicious, and slightly different. A definite must!More

Simply can’t understand the reviews for this restaurant. Visiting without a reservation on a quiet Tuesday night it seemed to be only half full so with a number of empty tables we decided to wait but after no one bothered to greet us we moved...to the bar area and waited another ten minutes at the bar. A smiling guy eventually arrived and offered us a choice of tables. We sat down and endured more waiting this time to order a drink. Five minutes and a drink order was placed and five minutes later it arrived! Still no menu. Two requests for a menu later and still nothing arrived. At this point it became apparent that there was very food coming out of the kitchen and other diners were looking a little frustrated and by now our ‘engines were running’. Patience exhausted so we asked for the drinks bill which turned up with a blackboard menu! A little too late to say the least. As a Javea local I can tell you that this is not a good example of local service can’t comment on the food.More

If you have no reserve, you have to wait, works like that...there is not special customers in our place. Even locals😘

Like always de menú en La Cajita was great. Full of taste and local products. The Avestruz and the Pate was special. For us the best tapas restaurant in de area.

OK, all reviews are relative and a little bit subjective. Nevertheless, all five of us had a great night out with good food, great wine, ( quite a lot), and a more than fair price. There is no point me trying to explain the concept...of the restaurant, because it is simply what you make of it. Enjoy!More

Fantastic food, fabulous wine and amazing service as always from Miguel @ Tangee!! (French) (sorry for spelling it wrong) Try and book late so you can stay all night!! Then head to the club round the corner!! Miguel will let you know if you order...too much and you need to order tangee’s chicken!! Amazing lol!! Probably best to go 2 nights in 1 week as there is too much to choose from !! Thanks again for having us love Mark & Kim , Marj & gordon (Glasgow)More

We had dinner at la cajita and were disappointed given the reviews. On the plus side, the service was attentive and friendly, and the prices very reasonable. However, the food varied from average to good, with no dish really outstanding.

Wonderful family meal and experience. We had a fantastic spread of 8-9 courses ranging from Tuna tataki to suckling pig. Everything was presented beautifully and was great to see how the chef worked solo despite having next to 0 space and no assistance. Our host...Miguel was charming and entertaining. A wonderful evening.More
