I had been wanting to eat at this place as we passed it every time we left our campground. We finally went for dinner. The restaurant smelled amazing. They had $3 happy hour margaritas. They were really good. I ordered the combo meal. It came...with 4 different things. I was a bit disappointed. The food was not as flavorful as I expected. The tamale had too much masa and not enough meat. Their salsa tasted very tomatoey. Service was great! Just wish food would have been better.More

This place is great! They serve the best hard-shell taco I've ever had and the Picaros are equally as good!

I have gone to La Fonda after a hike many times. I keep going there because I like it. They have the best Mexican food. All their lunch specials are yummy.

To be fair, it's been a while since I was there. Some of my co-workers raved about it. My fajitas were so burnt that about 1/4 of the order was stuck to the bottom of the pan. When I showed the server, he shrugged his...shoulders and kept moving. That was my first and last visit.More

Our favorite Mexican restaurant by far. The food and margarita's are delicious, the staff is great and they always remember you. Clean, friendly staff, delicious food and great atmosphere. What more can you ask for?

The La Fonda Mexican Restaurant is a third generation family run restaurant. It is not a fancy place but pleasant and comfortable and pride of ownership shows by the friendly, courteous and quick service. But most important of all the food is always great and...nicely presented. We have never been disappointedMore

We missed our turn for the restaurant we had selected and pulled in here to turn around. Saw a lot of locals' cars and decided to give it a try. Mexican food served hot and fast. The place was clean, the staff very friendly. The...lunch specials were under $10 and came with refried beans, rice, and large helpings, a soft drink and desert. You could get hot or mild sauce.. The table tortilla chips were warm and the salsa very tasty. They have all day $2 margaritas - and they don't stint on the tequila. A really food find.More

Pros- good flavors Cons- everything else. Un-welcoming staff, ordered a carne asada burrito for pick up. Pretty sure they overcharged me. The burrito was literally pieces of meat and a tortilla. No, cheese, salsa, sour cream. Nothing. It was so dry. $12+ for a tortilla...with pieces of chewy meat, with rice and beans on the side. I expected much more and left unimpressed.More

Pretty good tasting Mexican food. However, the portions are very small, especially for a Mexican restaurant. Just think mini-portions. Small enchiladas, tacos. Chips and salsa are brought to table in very small portions. They did not ask our party if we wanted refills on drinks....When I asked for a refill on my coke, they brought a half-filled glass of coke. Service is ok. Chintzy!!! Makes you wonder what quality of food are they preparing. I will pass on this place.More
