A group of six went for a late lunch on a Sunday afternoon. It was wonderful. The only 'complaint' that I have is that the portion was on the smaller side. We all had various salads--I had the steak salad. It was plated attractively. The...More

Atmosphere a plus in a vintage building. The cowboy steak was to die for. Notable wine selection and excellent cocktails. Ask for a balcony seat and definitely make a reservation.

Seated upstairs over looking Market Street. Well made Bloody Mary. Raw oysters were excellent as was the crab dip. Salad w/ grilled chicken was good, a bit tough and server honored a request to substitute blue cheese for goat cheese. House salad very good.

Had not eaten at Firestones in years...not sure why just normally go elsewhere. They earned my business last night and look forward to more meals in the future. The service was very good...however...they added a gratuity to the bill without mentioning it! This absolutely drives...More

Their servings are generous and their bartenders are experienced. Doesn't hurt that food is always fantastic!

I have to give this place credit for the food. It was delicious and plated uniquely. However, the acoustics in the restaurant are terrible. My husband and I sat upstairs towards the front of the restaurant on the side closest to the bar. We couldn't...More

Yes. That said be prepared to walk up the stairs, especially on the weekends. The first floor is a lot of the bar area. It can get a little loud after 8pm. But upstairs is quite and nice.

There is not a dedicated parking lot for the restaurant. There is street parking and municipal lots nearby.

Description
Firestone's Culinary Tavern, opened in 1999, is located in downtown Frederick's picturesque Historic District. It is housed in a 1921 building that was initially the home of Shipley's Department Store. The restaurant combines outstanding cuisine with the casual atmosphere of a neighborhood tavern. The Washington Post says, "the atmosphere is prime...the food is, too!".
