This was our second visit to La Rebotica, a lovely little gem of a restaurant (and indeed dining experience) a short stroll from the main Plaza Grande of Zafra. The imposing wooden door and the red Michelin sign the only signs to what may lay...inside. We didn't have a reservation but on arrival they were very accommodating. We were shown straight to a table, menus offered and we were asked what we'd like to drink while we perused the menu. We are British living in Spain so we can soak Spanish, but I imagine they would have no trouble to communicate with English diners. An amuse bouche was served as we sipped a gin & tonic, and ordered first and second courses. Everything was wonderful, the beef in my main was seasoned perfectly and so tender I could have cit it with a spoon. We shared a bottle of wine and then dessert. The wonderful thing about the experience is that the staff are attentive but not intrusive, knowing just when to appear to refill a glass or take away a plate. One of the waiters was very helpful in advising on wine too, suggesting a cheaper bottle be more suited to our meal, and advising on which starters were well received. We didn't feel rushed, we enjoyed a leisurely dinner, conversation and delicious food. The atmosphere is perfect for couples and small groups, there is enough background noise to not feel uncomfortable but you cancer yourself talk also. We really like the food and experience - we will return. So glad to see La Rebotica open again, and we look forward to returning.More

Highly recommend the place. Menu is special. Ask what they recommend and follow their advice. If you in Zafra go there

We just loved this place. The service was beyond compare. We were so happy. We just could not decide what to order and asked our server for some ideas. She was so helpful. We had partridge cannelloni, our first time having that ever, and it...was amazing. I mean it was so great, I can't wait to have it again. Their salads are fantastic and the fish was cooked to perfection. The seating is comfortable and relaxing. You are never rushed and the place was not packed and loud, it was wonderful. Have the best time.More

Our visit to Rebotica was the culinary highlight of our drive south. We ordered 3 dishes and asked to share all of them. Some restaurants would not be happy with this however, our dishes came beautifully presented on 2 separate plates for each course. We...started with a delicious ‘amuse bouche’ of, I think, a tuna and tomato reduction then came our first choice of partridge canneloni. Each tube was stuffed full of the tasty meat. We had wondered if choosing merluza so far from the coast was the right thing to do. It was. The fish was excellent and perfectly cooked, sitting on a crab mousse. Our meat course was albondigas of retinto beef with a liver stuffing. A delightful change from the usual pork albondigas available in most bars in Spain. We opted for local cheese with honeyed walnuts rather than a pudding - superb - and were then presented with a beautiful almond tuille, so that we had something sweet. All the food was refined and prepared with skill. Our wine was an inexpensive and very drinkable local red. The wait staff were attentive and charming and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening. It is a pity that, on this particular night, the restaurant was not busier with more people appreciating the efforts of the kitchen. Do go when you are in Zafra. The food is delightful and superb value. We certainly hope to return on a future Spanish road trip.More

We were there off season and the place was not too busy. It is not just a tourist place - the locals eat there too. And it isn't prissy, but friendly and inviting. Our waitress's recommendations were all spot on. How delightful it is to...find honest people who will tell you that you've ordered too much. The superb 'foie' is at least a 2 person sharing platter. ALL the food was great and the recommended wine, the best we've had in Extremadura. Can't wait to return. Thanks for looking after us so well.More

This is a relatively small resataurant clsoe to the centre of town just down a small street beyoned the church. The menu is quite intersting with some good local dishes & the loacl wine is also worth trying. We had artichokes stuffed with seafood to...start (excellent) followed by oxtail for me & Iberico 'Secreto' for my wife (also both very good). Howeber forget the 'puddings'! (Not good). When will I ever learn that the Spanish in general don;t do 'good puddings'! Reasonably priced with god service & a good chef. Would definitely visit again if we are in the area.More

This was the second of two excellent restaurants we ate at in Zafra. This one is a little more sophisticated and the ambience a little more fine dining-style than Arco, but both are very good. Wonderful, tasty food, beautifully presented. This is Extremaduran cooking to...an international standard.More

You can eat well in Zafra, but this restaurant has to be close to the best you will find. Excellent food well presented and even the desserts were special instead of the usual flan and arroz con leche. Two mains, two desserts, wine and coffee...for less than 60 Euros. Great value!More

I am a huge foodie and prior to travelling to Extremadura, I contacted the office of Joze Pizarro, the celebrity chef who was born in the area. This was one of his recommendations. My partner and I don't often rave about restaurants but this meal...was probably one of my best ever. It's certainly not cheap, but for the quality, great value. Fantastic meal and fantastic service.More
