We stopped in Barstow on our way to Death Valley and the staff at our hotel recommended this place for dinner. Everybody there was super friendly and the food was great... so much that we had dinner there again on our way back home!

My parents, locals to the area, suggested our party of nine enjoy a night before Thanksgiving dinner at Idle Spurs, and I am so glad they did. This is a good-sized, rambling establishment with a kitschy but homey western flair. Service is friendly, experienced and rapid. A fried zucchini starter was an indicator of the food quality made from large... More

Wanted a nice dinner-more than fast food fare. The people were the best part--very friendly and nice. The food was good but not great. It's hard to put my finger on it. The cooked veggies were my favorite although everything was good, but I've had better. The shrimp was a little tough and the salmon was ok. Still a little... More

Excellent steakhouse. Went for dinner, place calm, large tables, decoration is western style, service very good and friendly, wines and beers well selected. A very enjoyable evening there.

Off the beaten path. Make sure you see the Historical Railroad Depot on the way! Has a cozy Bar. Comfortable atmosphere, great service with smiles, good menu, and reasonable prices. Have been going there for over 50 years!

We make a point to eat here each time we are in Barstow. My husband always gets the fillet, says it's great every time. I, on the other hand, have had filet, salmon, spurs burger on several different occasions. Thought each was very good. I've been told to try the prime rib sandwich, well done and thinly sliced. They say... More

We had eaten here a year ago and came again even though it was a little out of our way. My wife had grilled shrimp, I had prime rib. Shrimp was a touch overdone, but good tasting. Prime rib was done perfectly. With wine, desert and generous tip it came to about $75.

Idle Spurs is the best restaurant in Barstow, nice ambiance and good service. It is a tradition. My only complaint is the high prices, but compared to good food in LA area, the prices are not so bad.

In business since the 1970s, Idle Spurs is Barstow's best known steakhouse. Featuring furnishings evocative of the Old West, the Idle Spurs experience is augmented by the friendly, earthy, down-home wait staff that make you feel at home even if just passing through town. Excellent steaks from local source Morgan Meats, decent side orders and a bar that pours a... More

Idle Spurs Steakhouse was recommended to us by the hotel we were staying at and to be honest we probably wouldn't have run into it otherwise, as the location is not on the main traffic routes. Nevertheless it is a fantastic place to eat. The food was really nice and the atmosphere as cozy as can be. A special compliment... More
