What a friendly place! Great tapas that kept on coming..tortilla, aubergine with black honey, rich pork stew, fresh pineapple to name a few, all great! Good place to visit.

We have been in Almuñécar over a week and have eaten in some lovely restaurants. Tonight we went to La China on recommendation of a friend, and it's only downstairs. We ordered drinks and our first Tapas arrived and started to eat it, when we were offered hot bread and pâté. When we ordered our main courses Chicken in Garlic... More

Joachim, the owner is a unique patron. He enjoys interacting with his cosmopolitan clients. The tapas are always an amazing surprise and come unbidden with a drink. I've been visiting for years and love the idea of recommending him and his friendly bar/restaurant.

Ordered two beers, and menu. We got beautiful meatballs in a sauce with the beer .a warm bread circle and pate followed. This was nearly enough for us. The two main courses arrived, enough for four. It too was delicious. Not able to move ,thought that was it. Next to arrive , mixed ice cream. If anyone can top this for value... More

My children insisted we returned to La China each evening. The staff were very cheerful and keen to bring large plates of Tapas to our table. Food was always served with a smile and kept coming regardless of whether we purchased drinks. The children loved every delicious plate and surprised me with how much they ate. This is a sure... Spent two months in Almunecar and this place became our favourite. Free fresh tasty tapas dishes come with every drink ordered. The staff always have a smile on their faces and sing whilst they go about their business. The best place around. A must visit.

Tasteful tapas with every drink you order. The service is very friendly and funny. We (10 persons) went there for a few beers/sodas, and was served a lot of tapas to the drinks.

My parents have been coming here for years so when we come to visit we come here and it is amazing. Just order drinks and the tapas start coming to your table until, you cry uncle. Fish, meat, salad, shrimp, boquerones, croquettes, you never know what comes next. A special place and a great view also. Great lunch spot.

Generic sort of place Staff friendly if not attentive Ended up coming back due to the warmth of the staff last time! Vino tinto de la casa is passable but nothing to write home about! Free tapas is nice
