South City Kitchen has some great food. First timers need to have the chicken with greens before trying some of the other choices like rabbit ravioli, venison, catfish or shrimp and grits to name a few. Great selection of fine Bourbon. Must stop if in the area. Thanks for great service and atmosphere. I'll be back

South City Kitchen is ALWAYS packed. I was able to get a stool at the bar after a 20 minute wait & thoroughly enjoyed my plate of fried green tomatoes & ice cold beer. Service was friendly, and fairly quick considering the number of customers there. I'll be back to try some of their other menu items...making reservations first!

Met a former colleague for dinner. Service was great as were the entrees. Shrimp and grits and the pork chop. Pecan pie topped it off.

We started with the fried green tomatoes. They were to die for. We had the fish, pork chop, and fried chicken. It was all good. This restaurant is very expensive. The service was good. You do need to make reservations .

Was recommended by our lyft driver... looks small but don't let the outside fool you. Inside it's full of life, robust atmosphere. Maybe a little loud for my taste but it's a popular spot. Let's talk food... had the she crab soup, amazing... don't miss it... hubby had the chicken... do yourselves a favor.. don't look at the menu, just... More

The crab cake appetizer was so delicious and ample for sharing. She crab soup was creamy and filled with chunks of crab. Two in our party had the fried chicken. They both agreed it was quite good. Another person had the Rabbit Ravioli, which is a seasonal dish. It was filling, with a light, vibrant flavor. Fresh, handmade ravioli! The... More

I ordered the trout with red pepper coulis, over a Heirloom bean salad. They brought us biscuits and cornbread before the meals arrived. The cornbread was a little dry but not bad. The trout was cooked perfectly but the much anticipated Heirloom bean salad was pretty boring except for the crunch green beans. And I mean crunchy. I'd prefer them... More

This was my favorite restaurant that I have discovered in Atlanta. I loved the atmosphere, staff, and the food. We went on a Sunday and it wasn't that crowded. We enjoyed everything; salmon, fried green tomatoes, fried chicken, greens, potatoes, and cornbread. Everything was absolutely perfect.

What a delightful dinner! I was alone on a business trip and choose to say at the bar. Food was fantastic, especially the fried green tomatoes and fried chicken. Service was great and I was very comfortable to be there by myself.

Our waiter, Brian, was curt and unfriendly. The food was average rather than spectacular as expected, and expensive. A bean salad billed as serving 3-4 people was rather small and cost 20$. The restaurant Lure, just a few doors down, has incredibly tasty southern food and great service, as well as a better ambiance. Go there!

Description
Celebrating over 18 year as one of Atlanta's favorite restaurants, South City Kitchen Midtown specializes in contemporary Southern cuisine with a sophisticated twist. Combining the energy of Atlanta with the warmth of a Southern home, the restaurant is nestled in an updated, historic bungalow on the city's famous Crescent Avenue. Dine on local Southern favorites such as shrimp and grits, buttermilk fried chicken, she-crab soup, fried green tomatoes and banana pudding while enjoying the view of our exhibition kitchen or the city skyline on one of the best patios in the city. This truly is dining the way the new South intended.
