I found myself in the neighborhood and opted to give Ann's a try. Once I ordered my ghetto burger, I waited for about 40 minutes. I would gladly wait another hour and 40 minutes for the burger I received, as it truly was one of the best cheeseburgers I have ever eaten in my life!!!

Made to order (so be prepared to wait - especially if there are others that ordered ahead of you - we waited 35 minutes), homemade and close to one of the best burgers I've had. We split "the hood burger" and some fries! We will find this place again! ... oh, it is a tad challenging to find/park - but... More

Talk about Old School surprise! Waking through the door you are transported back in time when manners, pride and service mattered. Just take a look at the 8 rules posted. To call this fast food is a disservice. They take care and pride in making each meal and is worth waiting for each mouth watering bite. We went with the... More

Our good friends are foodies, they went a few months ago & ranted about the burgers. We were also told it wasn't the nicest nor cleanest establishment. We went today and the building looks somewhat like a shack but inside are good smells. The burgers are huge...house burgers with onions to match. I wanted the ghetto burger but was intimidated... This place is living history. It was a great burger and great onion rings. The best that I have had in some time. The signage is really small so it is easy to miss. We had to go by twice since we missed it the first time. It isn't in the best part of town so I would recommend lunch... More

Southern to the core. Tucked away in historical Kirkwood, Ann’s is home of the infamous “Ghetto Burger”, which has been named by The Wall Street Journal as the best burger in the country. Ms. Ann recently passed away, but her family is keeping her legacy alive, still serving up all her originals with warm smiles. Her snack bar traditions also... More

The best home made burger!!! Fresh seasoned ground beef on a soft bun. The ghetto burger is huge and worth the wait. I can't wait to come back. I want to try the slaw dog next time.

My husband and I were in town for one day and he wanted to find something "local." We looked up local restaurants that had good reviews and came upon Ann's Snack Bar. Upon arriving, we noticed it was in an unsavory neighborhood. My husband jumped out and placed our order. It took us more than an hour to get our... More

Wait was at least 30 minutes and it was not crowded at all. Staff ok - not super friendly. But, hey, that can all be quickly overlooked if the burger is amazing. Ehhh, it was good. Not great. Way over cooked (see pic). Bread not stale but not super fresh either. Portions were great though. Go with the single patty.... More
