Recommend this restaurant if you want casual dining. Prefer their dinner menu versus the Red Rooster's menu. Only open for dinner. May order off of Tavern menu if dining at the Red Rooster's bar.

Friendly place, not too stuffy and we had excellent food. Seafood stew, lamb shank and chefs choice salad. All most enjoyable. Don't be put off by the somewhat imposing and corporate feel of the hotel. The staff was very good and helpful.

Thank you for joining us at Richardson's Tavern recently and sharing your review! I’m especially glad you enjoyed a warm welcome from our team, and commend you on your menu selections… both the shanks and seafood stew are favorites and mainstays, and we have a terrific collection of wines by the glass and Vermont craft beers to complement each! We stopped at this restaurant for lunch as we were checking out the many shops and bookstores in the Woodstock downtown area. Easy parking, the setting of the restaurant is super and the service is excellent. Food was very goodas you can get anything from salads to burgers. We had a table in front of the fireplace and really enjoyed... More

Thank you for this great review of your recent visit to Richardson's Tavern! We're glad you enjoyed your meal and the experience, though in the interest of clarity we need to tell you it is very unusual for The Tavern to be open at lunch; it is usually open only for dinner and served lunch the day you were here... We ate here two of our three nights at the inn. Food, drinks and service were all great. The only complaint was that the desserts were too small for the price, although delicious.

Thank you so much for staying with us at The Woodstock Inn for your recent getaway, and joining us in Richardson's Tavern for two warm, convivial dinners! Richardson's Tavern and The Red Rooster provide two very different and equally attractive options, and we are fortunate to be able to provide both the wide variety of choices typical of much larger... The Woodstock Inn in Woodstock, VT is a classic center of hospitality. I found the service and ambiance to be stellar. Outside the inn, the town is a trip back into time. It is rich in history and has many charming shops. Woodstock is well worth a visit.

Thank you for joining us in Richardson's Tavern and for your very kind words not only about our resort but the village of Woodstock! It's easy to understand why Yankee Magazine and others have often referred to Woodstock as “the prettiest small town in America,” and we like to think our town is as friendly and welcoming as it is... Service was excellent. Price and value very good - very comfortable - food was tasty as same chef as Red Rooster - we had the seafood stew which was excellent and shared some appetizers which were also very good - the Tavern opens earlier and is a great choice if you do not want a huge meal - we shall... Thanks for dining with us at both The Red Rooster and Richardson's Tavern and sharing your impressions of both! I am thrilled that you enjoyed the different atmospheres and menus in both restaurants, and were able to enjoy our very popular seafood stew. The ingredients change with the seasons but the delicious saffron-infused tomato broth is a constant and the... More

We came here, as non-resort guests, for dinner. The restaurant is in a hotel, so be prepared for a long wait if you don't have reservations. Our group of 7 were given a 2.5 hour wait. Thankfully, it was only 45 minutes. They have a great menu and good wine list. Everyone at our table enjoyed their meals - Swedish... More

Nice cozy environment on a snowy night but way overpriced for what it is. 21.00 each for a whistle pig 2 oz manhattan. Other local establishments charge 16-18 for the same. Salad (12.00) was OK. Baked macaroni and cheese (appetizer portion for 14.00) was good. My husband's salmon (25.) was also pretty good but the pumpkin hash was undercooked. All... More

We spent this past weekend at the Woodstock Inn & Resort. It was fantastic! We ate at both the Red Rooster (separate review) and also here at the Tavern. The food was excellent.
