Until about three weeks ago, I hadn't eaten here in years. My office just move to Kendall Square, so I've been searching for a great sub and lunch place nearby. I found it here. I got my usual sub ... a steak and cheese. I was pleasantly surprised by its quite delicious flavor. I don't know if it's the meat,... More

Lots of good Puerto Rican dishes and a variety of subs. Place it small so it can get pretty crowded in side. The folks behind the counter are super friendly and food never takes more than a few minutes to get. They close early now (6pm), so don't show up too late.

Best fried pork dinners around. Hole in the wall, but what a place. It is something special. The food is good and filling. It is original to PR and has such a great taste that you get a feeling that it was just made with pride. All the locals know about it and it can get really busy around lunch... More

I was not setting a high bar when I saw this place. I was expecting to walk out there with a piece of pizza or some sort of sub, just happy that I cross another place off the list. When I saw 'goat' on the outside menu, my expectations started to rise. I stepped in and it was packed. I... More

My husband was so leery when we walked up to Izzy's from Kendall, but once inside he understood. The aromas, the doñas and locals added to the around the way feel. The place is small (8 tables), but does a great amount of take-out business. We had the Churasco and fried snapper. Bread, rice, beans and salad were included. Both... More

From the outside, you might think it's just your ordinary sub shop, but it's so much more than that. This is an honest-to-God Puerto Rican family-run restaurant. It's totally a local favorite, and all of my friends from Puerto Rico just love this place, it feels like home. Not only the food (which is terrific--tostones, rice and beans, etc.), but... More

Izzy's is located off the beaten path in Cambridge,on the corners of Harvard Street and Windsor Street near the MIT campus. We took a scenic route to get to it as our jerk off cab driver had a "selective memory" and forgot where it was. So if you can walk to get there you probably should do so...or hope you... More

I moved to Boston from Puerto Rico 6 months ago. The food is suuuuper good. I feel like I'm at home when I go there. Not the touristy places but the real places. They even soften their own beans and don't use the canned beans like most places. Love this unpretentious place!
