This is the best and friendliest cafe in Iceland. Great coffee served in lovely mugs and generous portions of great cake.

We stopped in for dinner. Burgers, fish, and lamb dishes plus salads. We had the fish and chips which were quite tasty. Dessert was also very good with a variety of cakes. Service good, nice portions, and reasonable price (for Iceland)

The staff was more than friendly and the food was good. I would highly recommend this spot for lunch or dinner. Lots of options on the menu and in a cute little cafe.

We wanted to have a quick lunch before taking a ferry and by accident found this place. Pity we had so little time, else we would have stayed there much longer. The food was very good and the service was very friendly. A bistro worth...More

We've eaten there 3 times -- once in 2015 and twice in June 2017. My son and I are gluten-free and do not like lamb, which means that we eat a lot of naked cheeseburgers and rarely get more than ice cream for desert. I...More

We arrived around 8:30pm and luckily had enough time to eat as the restaurant closes at 10:00 pm. Quirky decor, but welcoming albeit the service very slow. Had the Arctic Char which was delicious and yes expensive as in anything in Iceland.

The food was excellent. My husband and the Thor burger and I had the bacon panini. Both were good and came with generous sides. i don't give the restaurant a 5 start rating only because the prices were very expensive. The pottery was gorgeous though,...More

Description
Eldstó Art Café/Bistró is an artistic café where all tableware is handmade on the premises by the owners G.Helga and THór (Thor Sveinsson), potter. The coffee we serve is made of quality coffee beans and our cakes, bread and soups are local as well as our various small dishes. Icelandic lamb and fresh fish is on the menu and lettuce grown in the surrounding countryside. Having a delicious meal in our lovely café on your way south is an excellent idea. We have a special menu for groups.
