Have been going to The Village Grinder for many years, eschewing a Starbucks just yards away for the locally owned shop. Today, I opened the door with my leashed dog (a registered service animal) and was met with "stop" hand and told "we can't have dogs in here." I told the lady that we'd been coming in for years and... More

The Village Grinder has the best coffee around! They have delicious sugar cookies and other treats that pair perfectly with my morning or afternoon coffee. You can buy coffee beans there to make it at home too. If you don't have your own coffee grinder at home, they will even grind the beans for you. Everybody there is always so... More

The iced sugar cookies are extraordinary. They are beautifully baked with a slight almond flavor. The shapes change with the seasons and holidays, making them quite festive as well as tasty treats. They always bring a smile to everyone's faces when served or offered as a gift. They disappear fast! We enjoy all their other cookies too...

Yep this may be the best retail combo available. Happened upon this place while searching for a Starbucks, but so happy I detoured and gave this a try. Excellent beverages and go-withs in a comfortably old-fashioned, crowded and buzzing area with a mix of little tables...the type of place that leaves local papers around to skim through. Pop through a... More

This is a very ambiance-heavy coffee shop directly connected to the leading independent bookstore in town. They have a great selection of drinks, and the bookstore proximity guarantees an interesting set of fellow travelers. The only thing costing it a star is it's early closing time; they shut down at 6 pm, just when the hard core caffeine lust is... More

i am sitting in the shop now (3/29/12) and i won't be coming back: -overhead there is a spider web the size of my cat. -for some reason they only have 1 plug-in working for PC's, Kindles, etc. the other one has tape over it. -a group of girls (I assume from Westside) is setting next to me, and they... I love coffee and their coffee is among the best I've ever had. We've been there numerous times. The last time I was there I had one of their peanut butter crispy bars and it was heaven too. What a gem this place is...I only wish I lived closer.

What a lovely little coffe shop to sit with your neighbors and friends to have chat. Comfy personalized service. Far out shines Starbucks for ambiance.
