I actually tried this restaurant with a friend because we were loyal followers of another South O Mexican haunt that we stopped going to after a health department issue. So, we have been trying to find a new Mexican restaurant and El Rancho was rated well on Yelp, so we tried it. I was very disappointed overall. The beer was... More

This place is OK. Nothing special. There are lots of Mex places around the area. This is one of them.

Diamond in the ruff, authentic mexican, well worth the trip off the main drag! My 10 year old thought it was the best mexican he's ever had. Don't let the bars on the windows scare you off, the inside is clean and everyone is very friendly. Prices are very reasonable too.

The caldo de pollo is excellent for curing illness and tastes yummy on a cold Winter night. However, their sopes de carne asada are the best in Omaha. Friendly atmosphere. Always families enjoying a meal. Jukebox available. Quick friendly staff that has worked there for more than 10+ years! Completely worth the money!

This is real Mexican food. We arrived about 11:30 a.m. Sunday morning. By noon every table was taken and we were the only gringos in the place. When you come in they will bring a bowl of tortilla chips and five different kinds of salsa. The orange and red ones are hot and both are good. We both got the... More

On a short weekend trip to the zoo we happened upon this little gem. Our waitress, though speaking little English, was courteous and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious, nothing pre-packaged here. I had the chicken fajitas, complete with rice, beans, limes, and homemade tortillas. The servings are large and we took plenty home. We will definitely stop by again.
