Went to Joe Tess Place for the catfish and the fried oysters and after peeling away the breading from the oysters we could not find the oysters in most of the pieces. The catfish was ok but all the food tasted like it was cooked in old grease. Would not waste my time going back, way to much wrong with... More

I remember when Joe Tess was primarily a bar with a small room on the west side used for the restaurant. And the quality of food has remained quite consistent over the years. It's fun to see how the menu has expanded with additional seafood and non-fish meals now. A friend and I went for lunch on a Friday. The... More

I've been to this place at least a handful of times thinking that maybe just maybe it would be better than the last and because everyone seems to love it. Every time I have eaten there I am super disappointed. I do not recommend this place to anyone.

This place used to be great. However on my last visit the waitress was rude the food was drenched in oil and soggy. We waited for an extended period of time for our food. We will not be back anytime soon.

Normally we really love the show and its suggestions but the famous carp was half overbooked and half undercooked. Shrimp was done well but the raspberry ice tea tastes like artificial raspberry with no tea. Our server was sort of rude. Prices are reasonable from $8-19 depending on the entree.

This is a family restaurant serving its specialty Carp fish for many may years in Omaha. We had not visited for well over a decade, but returned with family to see and taste again. The restaurant is very family oriented, drinks and food very reasonably priced. The menu was wide, offering Catfish, Chicken and other side options besides the standard... More

I hadn't eaten at Joe Tess' for a few years until Saturday night...why did I wait so long? The menu has expanded some since my last visit, including additional fish/seafood and non-fish items as well. But I ordered the double piece carp dinner that comes with jacket fried potatoes, rye bread and dill pickle slices. The serving gave enough left... More

This was a First Visit to Joe Tess Place. We tried the historic Carp sandwich and the Catfish dinner. We have to vote for the Catfish as tops. Potato slices were greasy and the Carp a bit overdone. Our server Alex couldn't have been better. Four stars for him!!

I was there in May 2016 with my brother and his wife. This restaurant is another Omaha icon. To start our fish was like mush in the center and not fit to eat. This means it was not cooked long enough. This happens to us every other time we come here. We have loved this restaurant for years but it... More
