In a delightful setting at the bottom of the North Face of the Bellecote glacier. We went for a birthday lunch with friends. The four course set menu was excellent value and the atmoshere was very friendly. We will definitely go again.

Fabulous birthday lunch today at the L'Ancolie. Choice of homemade terrines both of which were lovely followed by roasted chicken, polenta & delicious mushroom dish. Then cheese with raspberry pickle, a dessert to die for and finished off with coffee & genepy. Friendly & attentive. Would definitely recommend to others.

We visited he resturant last Thursday evening and had a fantastic meal. It is a very small place that normally closes on a Thursday, however our chalet hosts phoned for a reservation and they agreed to open. I would defiantly book in advance. I had 5 type of homemade terrine whilst my husband opted for soup which was served with... More

I went for dinner in January with a group of people as we were staying in a chalet nearby. The restaurant is quite small. It feels you are eating in someone's dining room. The service was really good and the two ladies who work there were very friendly and welcoming. The menu is quite short with 3-4 starters and 3-4... More

Having read the below reviews I was looking forward to dining at L'Ancolie, but also having read below about their history of 'forgetting' reservations, I took the precaution of getting the concierge at L'Oree des Cimes to make my reservation. Imagine my surprise when we arrived at the duly confirmed time to be met by an elderly woman (presumably not... More

Monsuir Patron shot the wild boar and made a delicious pate, likewise with the venison pate, with nuts and apricots. Main course was slow cooked boeuf bourguignon cooked in beer, then delicious cheese with homemade bread and desert was a wonderful raspberry tart, washed down with some lovely wine. Madam Patron is front of house and is charming and happy... More

The restaurant is jut around the corner from the chalet we were staying in so the 10 of us had a real treat on the staff's night off. The quality of the food and the welcome was top notch. The "parade" of pate's in particular was a highlight for me. The astonishing thing is that this superb food and plenty... More
