Humpy's is a staple when in Anchorage. Despite the touristy accoutrements, it's still a favorite with locals. They always have good beer on tap and good whisky behind the bar. Sometimes they have some pretty good entertainment too. Quirky and good....
Arriving back in Anchorage from a cruise excursion after a week at sea and finding our arrival coinciding with our first choice Simon and Seaforts closing for their afternoon break we searched for victuals using our phones and Humpy's was 9 (a) open and (b) serving fish and chips with I was craving as is often the case. It's a... More
This place was recommended and within walking distance to the Marriott so we decided to give it a try. We arrived and we're pleasantly treated by a guy working the front door who told us where we could sit because my son is 8. We took are seat and we're treated by our waitress. This is where I have mixed... More
Great local hangout in downtown ANC Went with a group from work - everyone commented on the how great the food was with really large portions and the local craft beers are an awesome bonus!!!
Humpy's offers locally brewed ales and excellent food. The smoked salmon dip and calamari were very good. There is a nice patio on the backside of the restaurant equipped with heaters for cold times. They also have live music with a variety of bands depending on the night. This was a fun place to visit, dance and enjoy the scene... More
I experienced the classic tourist bait and switch. It looks like this: you order halibut. You pay for halibut. But it's cod. Nope.
One of my favorite places in Anchorage. Excellent beer selection, I really like both the cod and halibut fish and chips, and very good service. Their fish and chips are lightly battered, not greasy.
Wonderful food and Alaskan atmosphere. Good music on weekends, good beer and Halibut chunks . A long time history in downtown as a fun place on weekends for get together. Food is great all the time.
Was there for Taco Tuesday...discounted fish (fresh halibut) taco's...not your medallion sized frozen fish excuse for a taco...two large soft tortilla's brimming with fresh fish & tasty fixings...rest of the menu looked mighty tasty & tempting...large local beer selection that went real well with halibut taco's.
