I've been to Sacks many times and have never been disappointed. Lots of great menu items, and always a creative dish for Alaskan salmon and halibut. The Bombay Halibut appetizer is so amazing I asked the restaurant for the recipe! (I have come close to matching it but not quiet).

Something or somebody was off in the kitchen today. Eggs Benedict with hollandaise sauce was almost inedible because it wasnt hot. Poor service with waiter who mumbled and was not attentive. Worst breakfast in Anchorage.

I realize that I am an east coaster, so my idea of slow service is skewed. However, the majority of the people at my table are from Indiana, and have much more patience than me. Even they thought the service was slow. HOWEVER, the food is the reason for the 4 stars. I got the tomato and Gorgonzola soup and... More

I had the wild bore. When I cut into it it was raw pink undercooked. No Jasmine rice as mentioned in the menu. My wife got the Cod on what was described as a bed of black spicy rice. There was zero spice & zero tomatoes which were listed on the serving. Wonderful waitress but absolutely horrible and incredibly overpriced... More

Anchorage is known for its seafood, but after awhile the restaurants downtown seem the same. Sacks, however, never disappoints in creativity, selection and presentation. I have had overcooked salmon just about everywhere else downtown. The food at Sacks has always been perfect. Try the bacon apple salad greens. Maybe with some salmon on top. Yum!

Medium size group for a post-business dinner had a great time here. Fabulous wine offerings and a fun menu. We were definitely the largest group there, and we thank the staff for accommodating us. Normally I'd say this place is best for 2-4 people - it has a nice, small, intimate feel to it.

My husband and I have dinner at Sacks, before a performance at the PAC. We arrived in time of our reservation and expected enough time to enjoy all courses (particularly dessert, my husband was looking forward to). It wasn't terribly busy, many tables available despite the Saturday night as it was early yet. Yet the kitchen was slow and lacking... More

Excellent! Great service. Wine selection was good to very good. Food was perfect. Some uniqueness in our selections. Any salad or dish that has fermented blueberries in it, ORDER IT! These were the best I've ever had. Better than Grandma's

This was a perfect little lunch stop for me as a solo traveler. I noticed obvious locals enjoying their lunch, too. When the waitress noticed that the waiter was ignoring me she came over and proceded to provide GREAT service. Lunch was delicious (steak sandwich), fresh and unique in its preparation.
