I went here for breakfast and had an amazing california omelette. Possibly the best omelette I've ever had. It's ideal for breakfast if you are staying in the Ballard Inn hotel as it is only up the road. Staff are really friendly. I'll be going there tomorrow!

Vera's is the best place to go for breakfast in Ballard. It is not a trendy or hip place but reminds me of diners you might have found in 1965. Complete with old pictures of Ballard and great service. Try the biscuits and gravy which comes with a large serving of traditional hash browns (not 6 small potatoes) and two... More

We were staying at the Hotel Ballard, there is no restaurant at the hotel so we sampled several in the area. Vera's wins hands down! Great Food; I had the Salmon Benedict and hubby had the chicken fried steak. We really enjoyed the food, the service and the price. On our next visit to the area; there won't be a... More

Four of us had breakfast on a Friday morning. It was not too busy but a guy sitting having breakfast said they really do a great job. We had the classic benedict, strawberry pancakes and an omelet. All were good and well worth a second visit. The place is a bit old fashioned, but that is fine for the ambience... More

One of my friends recommended this place as inexpensive so a small group of us gave it a try for breakfast. It was not a success; the place is dim and the air smelled of old food. We ordered a variety of dishes and my eggs were overcooked with the potatoes greasy and tasting somewhat "off". Smells like the grill... More

If you like diner's, you will love Vera's. If you don't, stay away. Their food is dependable and good, but it is a diner.

Located in the heart of the Ballard neighborhood in North Seattle this classic diner with no thrills is family owned and operated. Great for a date or a meeting spot with a friend where conversation is on the menu. Lots of room in the booth seating, not too loud for quiet conversation, and not too pretentious that you feel ou... Vera's in Ballard is an old standby for us locals. The food is consistently good but not extraordinary. The service is good and old fashioned. Don't expect haute cuisine and you will be happy with the broad menu of egg dishes and pancakes for breakfast and sandwiches for lunch. The location is perfect - right in the middle of the... More

Vera's is your basic homey diner, the kind that used to be in every downtown shopping area. On the plus side, the staff is friendly and the dining room is bright and welcoming. But the food can be a little inconsistent. The first time I went we ordered sandwiches and everything was delicious, The next time we ordered breakfast and... More
