I'm not a crazy healthy person but the food was good! Everything is organic so they have some strange combinations to keep it that way. I ordered oatmeal cobbler French toast and it was good! probably 8/10. I also got a salmon omelet that was 7/10. BUT the service was 11/10! Seriously amazing service, I was very impressed. Restaurant is... More

Breakfast Business meeting for six of us. Food selection was wide enough to accommodate everyone. Portions were good-sized without being over the top. No one raved about their food but no major complaints either. Wait staff forgot orders, didn't refill water, and two orders were wrong. This was odd as it wasn't exceptionally busy. Very casual environment with concrete floors... More

Due to my wife's hospitalization at nearby UWMC, I ate breakfast here five times in 7 days. The food is absolutely delicious with tons of stuff to put on delicious pancakes and gobs of scrambled egg dishes with great pepper bacon. But when tasted the eggs Benedict with smoked salmon the second time, every day since I have had it... More

Have been here a few times and the food is amazing! The pork belly Benedict is crazy good. Don't go here on the weekend without a reservation though! We waited an hour and a half and didn't get in without a reservation. It would have been nice if the front end staff didn't lead us on to think it was... More

Lots to choose from! Should I get breakfast or lunch. So hard to choose, but ended up with a giant salad. It was very good. The pancake and fruit bar looked good also.

We always have breakfast at Portage Bay Cafe when I'm in Seattle visiting my son who attends UW. Everything they serve is delicious! They take reservations now which is a plus since it's always very crowded on the weekends.

The fruit bar with toppings is fantastic! The portions served are huge. I ordered pancakes and they were some of the best I have eaten ...It gets super crowded on the weekends, be prepared to wait, but the place is much larger inside then expected.

Hoping would be way better.... The sausage and bacon were the best, since they were organic and local. This place is pretty much known for the Breakfast Bar. They serve potatoes with pretty much everyone on the breakfast menu and those are pretty gross and the organic, homemade bread was too thick. Bathroom was dirty and there was a lipstick... More

My daughter loves this cafe so we were eager to try it after staying at a local motel in the University District. Checked their online menu but discovered my choice was not available that morning. My first disappointment. The online and actual menus bore only a passing resemblance. I ordered the egg and bacon breakfast sandwich on hand-crafted potato bread.... More

No hesitation whatsoever in recommending the Portage Bay Cafe. This place is always jumpin' busy but the wait usually doesn't take too long and there's such an interesting mix of customers that the people-watching helps pass the time. Love the focus on fresh/natural/organic, local producers. Portions are generous. Excellent service. A great place to bring visitors to the area to... More
