The freshest of local fish and shellfish prepared simply and just delicious. Less than 200m from where the fishing boats catches are landed in Ciboure/St jean de Luz. Big picture windows look out onto the river. Simple décor -the focus is on the fish and friendly service. We chose all the courses from the day's specials blackboard - crevettes, dorade... More

Visited on a Sunday night and had monkfish and a whole grilled turbot, with a couple of starters and two Kir Royales. The bill came to 99 Euros, which sounds a lot but was good value. The only negative aspect is we found the bench seating to be a bit uncomfortable.

Just round the corner from the Ibis and overlooking the river. Quite expensive but everywhere in St Jean de Luz is! We had turbot and half a lobster and dessert, just a glass of wine each and it was around 70 euros. My fish was very good, lobster was slightly undercooked we felt ( they cook on wooden fire I... Had an excellent meal here. Loved the 'dip' we were given with our drinks. Nice staff and popular restaurant. However, we found it to be a bit pricey (although most restaurants in this area are). For two beers, one prawn starter and two fish (served with potatoes and a kind of tomato ratatouille) we paid Euros 70, plus a tip.... More

We are dinning in this restaurant for over 7 years already and, the only thing I can say is that food is really great...if you like sea food, in general. The restaurant is medium sized (100 places or more) and, during July and August always fully booked. You should be really lucky to get a table without prior reservation (which... More

Found this lovely restaurant on the bank of a river, the nearby town was celebrating Fete de Saint Jean... The menu at 37 euros looked good and we ordered two with a kids meal of an entrecote grilled with chat potatoes. The food was great, though tuna was not really my choice of fish but I nonetheless enjoyed it...the service... More

The food was very good, if somewhat expensive and the service friendly and efficient. However although the general ambience was good, the restaurant itself was uncomfortable. There didn't appear to be any heating. We were there on a fairly cool evening and it was noticeable that most of the guests (including us) kept their coats on the whole time. To... More

We were staying at The Ibis and we didn't fancy eating there but it was raining and went to this restaurant as it was the nearest to the hotel. We both had Dover Sole which was served with ratatouille and potatoes. The fish was well cooked and it was washed down with their house wine. Not the cheapest place to... More

Was recommended while stopping at the Ibis Hotel just around the corner. Situated at the side of the river was made ro feel very welcome, the food was excellent beautifully cooked and presented at a very good price.
