My husband and I went to eat here on our last day in the island. The restaurant has a really nice view of the ocean. However, do wear sunscreen and sunglasses because the sun might be hitting you depending on where you are seating. The...drinks were delicious! I recommend the lava flow. The pulled pork quesadilla and mauna Kea burger were also really good. I liked their famous Ramos poke nachos, but it wasn't my favorite plate. Overall, good place to eat.More
We had fun at Huggo's On The Rocks. We ended up eating at all three restaurants in this chain over the course of our stay: Huggo's On The Rocks, Huggo's, and Lava Lava Beach Club. This was our second favorite (Huggo's was the best, while...we did not enjoy Lava Lava Beach Club).
At Huggo's on the Rocks, it was fun to eat with our toes in the sand, listen to some live music and have some tasty drinks. Beware that the mud pie is HUGE. There was no way the two of us were able to finish it.
We came toward the end of the evening and didn't have to wait for a table. Just a heads up that most of the restaurants in Kona close early, usually by 8 pm.More
We had a beautiful, comfy spot like at home with the sound of waves below us! Ordered several small plates! I’d lose a finger for some more of the Poke stack and the mix of flavor fried calamari, shrimp and artichoke! The creamy sauce mmmmm!!!...Loved everything we had. I don’t like too sweet of drinks but loved the red drink taste like jolly rancher! Staff and manager beautiful, sweet souls! Loved huggos most of all!More
It’s never a bad time here. Always live music. Staff is amazing. Will never stop coming here. We’ve had many fun nights here with just the two of us or a huge group. The food is delicious and reliable. Worth the wait.
Clearly one doesn’t come here for gourmet experience. The sunset view from the waterfront is enough to come here. Decent drinks and adequate food are nice accompaniment to that. Fish was fresh, decent burger.
