We originally had planned for a Xmas buffet at Ulu which is outdoors but decided to change to the Grill after we discovered that the buffet was moved to the ballroom. We’re glad that we had an opportunity to try the Grill. The filet mignon...and 19th hole cocktail were memorable. The unexpected fire alarm (there wasn’t a fire) was a bit distracting but what can you do? Even though it didn’t feel much like Christmas, we enjoyed our meal. There was an Xmas tree near our table (by the hostess stand) but it blew around with the wind. We were afraid it might fall over on us but it kept the kids entertained....I’d like to mention that our waitress was amazing. She was so bubbly. I thanked her for working on Xmas and she was quite gracious.More

This was an extraordinary restaurant. The building and grounds are beautiful. All the doors are wide open, high ceilings, spacious, very romantic and relaxing. Sunsets are gorgeous. We arrived just to get the tail end of another sunset. The WAIMEA BEETS salad is very nice,...refreshing. For dinner we got HAPU'UPU'U and NI`IHAU LAMB. Both were perfect. They have a nice wine selection. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We would go back.More

We’re a young family of 3. Seasoned Hawaii travelers & foodies. Our picky 6 year old daughter loved the salad, kids chicken & mash potatoes. We had the 7 & 10 Oz. Wet aged filet. We split the wedge salad which I recommend to share....It was delicious. The steak presentation was amazing. On large cutting boards. A la carte fare but the steaks were super tender, perfectly marked & cooked & not overly seasoned or soaking in butter like most high end restaurants tend to do. We opted for ice cream instead of a heavier dessert- although they all looked great. I had coffee ice cream & my husband had cookies ‘n cream. The kids meal comes with dessert & my daughter chose the brownie sundae. It was perfectly portioned & the kids food was equally the same quality as our meal, which typically isn’t the case. I’d go back in a heartbeat. Like all food on the Bog Island it’s 20-30% higher priced than you’d expect. This place was worth it.More

I'd give the service 5 stars and the food 4 but for the price I'm giving it just 3 stars. We ate here Thanksgiving night. They had the option of ordering a traditional Thanksgiving meal but we chose to order off the regular menu. We...were offered the option to wait at the bar a few extra minutes while they cleared a table with a better view which was nice. Most of the staff were excellent but I'd rate our main server as good. Some of the food, filet mignon, lobster and gratin potatoes were great. The hot rock appetizer, Brussel sprouts and stuffing were nothing special. It's a great spot for a romantic dinner but the price is hard to justify considering the food isn't spectacular.More

Hualalai Grille is a fantastic steakhouse....but not your typical steakhouse! We loved every detail of this dining experience! This was our first time eating here, and it was such a memorable evening! When I made our reservation for dinner, the woman I spoke to kindly...guided me by telling me that we would not get the best sunset views from this restaurant on the Four Seasons property (all the other restaurants are oceanfront for perfect sunsets). So we made our reservation time for after the sunset, and we had cocktails at Beach Tree to view the amazing sunset before enjoying an incredible experience at the Hualalai Grille. I really appreciated that she guided me in that way...just one of a million examples of the service details all over the Four Seasons property. We will dine at the HG next time we are back on the Big Island!More

Simple, but tasty, food ~ prepared as ordered. Relatively small portions. Very pricey (expected at the Four Seasons). Horribly inept service. Cannot recommend this restaurant.

I had a delicious filet seasoned and cooked perfectly and paired with a nice red wine from their decent wine list. Service was friendly although a little bit slow considering how quiet the restaurant was. I started with a crudo that was just ok; rather...than thin slices of fresh fish, I had a plate of larger-than-a-mouthful chunks of fish that just wasn't too appetizing. Even though it's on the pricey Four Seasons compound, it's reasonably priced for the food and drink you get.More

Probably the least used dining venue (not on the water) but lovely setting - and very good food and execution. NOTE TO MANAGEMENT: This venue's bar should be open all afternoon to welcome golfers

This was a very nice meal @ the Four Seasons Hotel. The restaurant overlooks the golf course with peekaboo ocean views. The service was outstanding and very attentive. I had the Filet w/Gratin Potatoes & my husband had the grass fed strip steak, we both...ordered ours medium and we should have ordered medium rare as it was just a touch over medium from being on that hot plate. The gratin potatoes are so delicious and creamy and the spicy fried rice was also flavorful and delicious. Portions are generous here. We had the table side pineapple upside down cake which was devine, they flambé the rum, Carmel and pineapple then pour it over coconut ice cream and cake. ...Delicious and actually light. The prices aren't cheap here so expect to drop some coin, you are at the four seasons, but if your looking for a great steak this is the place to come.More

Hualalai grill for most part is far more expensive... $55 for a small steak. Offerings are much different.... Steak vs fish (at mama's). Personally think mama's is so much better than hualalai
