Second time on the Island and a few different trips to Lava Java. Staff are always friendly and the food is always excellent. Ocean front so you can watch the surf, the people or the sunset. We’ll be back!

Every time we come to Kona, this is where I go for Eggs Benedict - best I have tasted and cannot beat the view. Staff is friendly and attentive. Price is reasonable.

We stopped for happy hour drinks and found a great happy hour menu. Pizza and ribs were excellent. Sitting at the bar watching people on the street below and the sunset were a great plus. The bartenders were fun and poured great drinks. We found...More

We went here for our last day in Hawaii for a big breakfast. It was so delicious, and everyone just loved their food. I had a stack with eggs, bacon, avocado, and more, and every part was good. Others got eggs benedict, which was especially...More

Right along Ali'i drive -- great views out over the ocean. The coffee was among the best we had all week. And their croissant breakfast sandwich and a bowl of fresh fruit was plenty for us to share.

Breakfast out has rarely been such a treat for us. But hey, we’re in Hawaii! Most important coffee was good! And generous! We stuck with pretty simple menu items...bagel, egg croissant sandwich, and a bowl of fresh fruit. I’d go back every day.

This restaurant was recommended in a guide book as one of the best breakfast spots in Kona and they were right. We visited twice during our visit. Everyone enjoyed this breakfast and the view is directly across from the ocean. Recommend pancakes, waffles, and eggs...More

Saw this place on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Wasn't as good as we had hoped. Had better coconut shrimp else where on our trip and the ribs were so-so but weren't as good as hoped.

Its Hawaii !!! Who eats breakfast before 6:30 AM? Although they are known for breakfast and lunch, they also serve a great dinner.

Yes. Lava Java does take reservations. Reservations are not really needed unless you have a large party or if its a holiday. But they do take them if you want to be assured of a table.

I am not sure but they are mostly a breakfast and lunch place. So if you are looking for dinners it may not work. All there food is made fresh and is great. I think they have a web site too.
