If you are alone or with your family and friends this is a good place to go to . It has a large variety of food at a good price and good portions. Besides the food you can go for bowling or different games all in air conditioning . It is informal .......you order at the counter and the food... More

Go here if you're looking for what the locals really eat. You will stand out if you look like a tourist but won't feel uncomfortable.

Chubby's is inside the bowling alley so it's kind of hard to find. Order at the counter and your food will be brought to your table. Breakfast all day features eggs, waffles, pancakes, loco moco that is a LOT of very tasty food. The quality is good diner fare, inexpensive for the area, and it's open late. The staff are... More

We wanted something to eat around 9:40 at night. Other fast food places had no appeal. I'd read about Chubby's so we went for late-night burgers and fries. It was good! I think we were the only non-locals in there but everyone was friendly and the staff was nice. Great service. I only wish I'd had the pot roast special.... More

We always get the Korean chicken plate. Comes with two sides, rice and mac salad. Good price for lots of food. Good service too.

Hidden gem inside a bowling alley! We really enjoyed the pick 3 platter and chicken wings after a long day at the summit. We choose the short ribs, beef teriyaki and fried shrimp with white rice. My favorite was the short ribs and chicken wings, skip the fried shrimp. If I'm ever in the area I'll be dining here. Good... More

This diner is in a bowling alley so can get a bit loud. The staff was friendly and service prompt. The tables were filled with locals. The plates of food were huge and delicious. Prices seemed average. Great choice when you are really hungry and looking for a place that locals frequent.

We were in Kona for an outrigger race and our coach knew about this place. We would never have considered it otherwise. It is in a bowling alley and it serves up huge and delicious portions of local favorited. My husband had the Kalua pork loco moco and that would have been enough for both of us. I ordered the... Chubby's Diner gets points for being open late! My husband and I were on vacation in Kona and looking for a late night spot to grab some local island grindz and saw that Chubby's was open after 10PM when a lot of the other local restaurants around the area were already closed. The location was a bit hard to find... More
