We were excited to be trying Gordon for the first time. However, as we sat waiting for our entrée to arrive. It was clear from where we were sitting that the cook was checking the temperate of our food. With his bare hand and no glove. He then picked it up to put it back on the heat to heat... More

After experiencing some disappointing meals at other restaurants this trip, we decided to just stop in at the Gordon Biersch Brewery because it was close to our hotel. I was undecided and asked the waiter about 2 different selections and he led me toward the Beer Mushroom Chicken. I am not a beer drinker, but this meal was one excellent.... More

Our waitress at Ernst's Cafe recommended Gordon Biersch Brewery when we asked about bread pudding for dessert. We were seated quickly and told we were more than welcome to just have dessert. Excellent very large serving of bread pudding iwth ice cream. We sat outside and enjoyed a bit of people watching mid afternoon. They made a fresh pot of... More

After becoming a bit fed up with the continuous hustle and bustle in the French quarter we sort of stumbled upon this place. Cozy inside (nice and dark),relaxed but great service from Michael, enjoyed a few samplers, jummy Strawberry something cocktail and ordered a nice flatbread with bacon, etc. I personally can highly recommend this place !

A nice bar and restaurant right on Harrah's property. It was a good few drinks, the service was fine and the place was clean and lively with plenty of seats. Priced for the downtown area.

The beer is so cold the taps are ice covered! The garlic fries were amazing! Great quick service at the bar on a Saturday evening during the French Quarter Fest! We stopped in before catching a bus, will have to dinner here on the next trip!

We went there several times, to have a beer without the loud music on Bourbon. They have big selection of beers for every taste!

After days of choking down Bud Light we found much needed respite in this pub, which not only makes the beer, but does an excellent job of it. We tried a happy hour dish of seared yellowfin, then shared the lobster mac & cheese. Delicious. A bit noisy, and very dark, but an excellent dinner just the same. Great waitstaff.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
