The BBQ was awesome! Had the mashed sweet potatoes (special side for the day) - fabulous! Nothing left to take home. Off the beaten path, so we had to call for a taxi and wait about 20 minutes, but well worth the trip.

Little place tucked away in a residential neighborhood. Fun, friendly and good food. Not what I expected for BBQ coming from the north. The sauces were very good but not typical sauces. I do wish I had a few other options to try for sauce but as I said they were both very good.

Visiting New Orleans for the first time, this place was high on the must-see list and it didn't disappoint. The beef brisket was tasty especially doused in the local BBQ sauce. Pork ribs fell off the bone. The sides complimented the meat, try the mac n cheese and potato salad. First visit I tried the lime pie, yum! But the... More

My husband and I searched out The Joint based on an episode of Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives... Normally we stick to Memphis when in search of BBQ, but since Guy recommended it, we made the trip to Bywater. It wasn't terrible, but it didn't seem to live up to the hype the tv show gave it.

Located in the Bywater District we found this great small BBQ restaurant which is open between lunch and dinner. Many are closed from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. They have a full bar, sweet and unsweetened tea but no coffee. Food hot and is made to order.

I don't want to sell the joint short the BBQ is awesome. But I will state that is is the only good BBQ in New Orleans. While a great food city BBQ just is not great here, the Joint is the exception. Worth the trip, I do kinda miss the overgrown backyard of the old spot, but the move all... More

During our visit to New Orleans, we had to fulfill our BBQ craving. Its surprising that a foodie town like NOLA does not have that many BBQ options. Joint was a nice Uber ride and I really liked the food. So if you are in NOLA and have to have BBQ, this the place to go

Dinner at The Joint was rather tasty. Ordered pulled pork, sausage, slaw, and Mac N cheese. They were all delicious. The portion size was also perfect. I felt happily satisfied by the food but not overly stuffed. Topping off the food was a good selection of drinks. I ordered the Lynchburg Lemonade which was perfect on a warm spring night.

Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
