I'd missed the point about it being a take away only when I arrived here, but the reviews of the fried chicken were enough to tempt me to visit. I thought the fried chicken was good - nice and crispy with a good taste - and the fries were also good - everything cooked freshly and served hot. Whether it's... More

My group was somewhere else and we literally followed the delicious scent to this joint. Very quick and flavorful.

I mean, if you want to get some straight up proper fried chicken, this is the place to go. The gravy is sometimes a little too peppery for my taste but sometimes, its just right. Friendly service and they're always right about the time you will have to wait. Dont expect them to pick up the phone when you call... More

This is some of the best fried chicken in town, and in New Orleans, that's saying a mouthful! It's just the right mixture of crispy, spicy, salty and delicious. I would give it 5 stars, but the "fixin's" are not as excellent as the chicken. The cole slaw, while fresh, is a bit on the sweet side, and the mac... More

This is great chicken for take-out only. I assume that's the only reason this place is not more well-known among out-of-towners. To me, it is much higher in quality and far less greasy than Willie Mae's... Service is fine and the prices are unbelievably low for food this delicious. Highly recommend for a picnic!

Great way to fill a crowd with a takeout order of Southern fried chicken (they also have shrimp) Also feature an inexpensive breakfast if you are in a hurry. Local business.

I stopped twice for chicken and potato salad and chicken and cole slaw. Extra-good chicken and the sides were delicious. I was thrilled that they had a booth at the Fest! The people were super friendly and polite as well.

Mc Hardy's is a no-frills, take-out only style, place to get great chicken. The pieces are smaller, but fried to order perfectly. They have great sides like red beans & rice and friend okra. The service is fast and friendly. You can take your food to nearby City Park to eat as well.

I was trying to grab food at the Caribbean restaurant down the street but Mondays in New Orleans means your restaurant options are slim and I was denied my rice and peas. I knew McHardy's Chicken & Fixin' was right around so I headed there instead. McHardy's offers take out service only, so there is no seating for dining in,... More

I like McHardy's fried chicken. The pieces are small but perfectly fried. I have been a few times and always good. It's not in the safest neighborhood, but I try to park in front. In not, I go around block. Last time I parked in empty lot and hoped I would not get towed.
