Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I stopped off here years ago and enjoyed my meal and view so much I had to return. The service and selection have always been outstanding. They offer 2 or 3 selections to go with rice or Chinese noodles for less than &10.00. And the...portions are large. The inside seating area is very clean with many tables, or you can go out on the deck and enjoy the ships passing by. Tonight, a Carnival cruise ship was leaving port as I ate. One of the NOLA paddleboats parked nearby had a band playing before its departure which provided nice music for my meal. Maybe you will be as lucky as I was.More

It is located in the food court of the Riverwalk Outlet Collection, at the very end of Canal Street. We had some shopping inside the mall. We were tired and decided to have a quick lunch. Food was good and tasty. Something like the Panda...Express chain joints in many American cities. We had the usual noodles, brown rice, the orange chicken, the beef and broccoli and we tried also the bourbon chicken. The Bourbon chicken was the best, it was good, not breaded and healthier. There is a great view of the Mississippi river. One evening we went there for the second time and we enjoyed a fastastic view of the bridge and the steamboat on the river with all lights on. It was OK for a quick meal, it was inexpensive and pretty decent.More

As mall food courts go they do not usually get the best of reviews. The meal we had at this Mandarin Express in my opinion is as good as any meal served in a fancy Mandarin restaurant costing 20 plus $$$. My wife and I...had a 2 combo and side for $7.99 each. Chinese noodles, bourbon and honey chicken. For us this was a 2 meal for each of us as we had to bring some back to our hotel. I have eaten here on past visits to NOLA and have always been impressed with the service and quality of the amount served and taste.More

The food court is very nice here, clean, good choices, good views. Most restaurants had a couple of people ordering, but Mandarin Express had a line of 20 people. Sure, there were more classic options, but I decided to see what all the fuss was...about, and I'm glad I did. The Chinese food was excellent, decent size portions, fresh, friendly service, a really good experience for a food court. Enjoy!More

We had lunch here a couple of times. It's good value and reasonable food. Was surprised that they had no chop sticks one day, but I suppose everybody has supply issues.

In any area in the States, there were some(sometimes many) Chinese restaurants. But here in business district and the Quarters, there was few. This restaurant was in the 2nd fllor of Food Court in Riverwalk Outlet. My choice was chicken(tasted soy sauce and sugar), fried...noodle and cooked vagetables. They tasted good! Eating, we could see the Mississippi River. Steamboats were sailing, birds were flying and waves were glittering. The scene was the best seasoning!More

Part of the spacious food court of the Riverwalk Mall overlooking the Mississippi. Serves unexceptional Chinese food, with very limited choice (one!) of one non-meat main courses.

Food was stale, greasy, and did not taste good. Of course I ate about 5pm and there weren’t many customers so it is possible that the food had sat in the warming trays for a long time. Maybe it would have tasted better if we...had eaten there at lunch instead of supper time.More

I had a two portion plate, which included chicken and beef, and of course rice comes with it. The flavor was very good. We would definitely eat there again.

The Mandarin Express is located in the Food Court of this Outlet mall next to The Nordstrom Rack. Staying next to the Outlet, I didn’t want to venture too far, so I decided to see what the food court had to offer. I decided to...try Mandarin Express. I got the two item combo with Chow Mein. I had the Honey Chicken and some kind of beef dish. First, the service was fast and checking out too. As I had sat down to eat, I first tried the Chow Mein. This was the worst, as the noodles were so soggy, it had no texture, let alone a lack of flavor. The beef dish was okay. The Honey Chicken was tasty, so that got a thumbs up. If you decide to eat here, I do not recommend the Chow Mein.More
