I don't know what was worse- the rat that kept on popping out of the corner or the bathroom that looked like someone was murdered in it. Drinks weren't bad but the grossness of the place totally outweighed it.

We just stopped in for bread pudding and coffee and enjoyed the atmosphere. The bread pudding was good, but the coffee was harsh. We ate it even though we were watching a four legged creature roam about then run out of the restaurant.

We ate their last night. The food was reasonable without being any thing special. What let it down for us was the service. The waiter, who was not particularly friendly throughout, asked us if we wanted coffees or desserts before we had finished our main...More

We cannot thank the staff of Chartres House enough for letting us in with our dog. It was very hot Memorial Day weekend, and after a morning walk she needed to get some rest in a cool spot. They sat us inside and even brought...More

I had pecan crusted fish with seasonal veggies and red potatoes, no flavor in the fish and left a bad after taste. Steamed veggies were shriveled up and red potatoes were bland. My husband had red beans with chicken and sausage. He also felt his...More

the food was good, the waitress was pleasant, only concern was that a couple of the waiters kept leaving and going around the corner like they were doing business on the side, and 1 fellow kept coming in the restaurant and going behind the bar...More

I had the crawfish pasta. It was excellent. I didn't care for the garlic bread but that was okay. My husband had the Taste of New Orleans. He loved it but it really was not a huge portion. We sat on the street overlooking Chartres....More

French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living
lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty

I don't think so. We went the evening we arrived and just walked right in. If you had a large party it might be different.
