On our last night in New Orleans, we decided to give our hotel restaurant, M Bistro, a try to avoid Mardis Gras craziness. Having dined at Restaurant Revolution and Commander's Palace the previous two nights, we tempered our expectations. We were pleasantly surprised. Our food was excellent and the service was fantastic. The live music was so classy and really... More

While staying at the Ritz Carlton NOLA we enjoyed the daily breakfast buffet. Fantastic made to order eggs and omelets by Chef Duane and Chef Aria/Ariel! Meats and cheeses, salmon and all the fixings, pastries, oatmeal, grits (excellent), high quality bacon and andouille sausage, fruits and juices. Beignets were better than Cafe du Monde! Our server Lataria and her team... More

Before dining here, I was enjoying the grits from the room service menu earlier in the week due to busy work days on the events floor. I could seriously eat their grits for breakfast lunch and dinner. They weren't specifically on the menu as a side, but they were happy to add them for me. The service was pleasant and... More

Average food with average service. Nothing was "bad"...it's just that nothing was exceptional or even notable about it. Maybe because it was a Tuesday night? We've stayed at other Ritz properties with much better restaurants.

Dined here in June 2011 as guests of the hotel. Late night dinner since it was already hot that spring and didn't feel like eating much. Had soup and desserts. The deserts were reasonably priced at $6 and especially being the ritz Carlton. Enjoyed live music from the adjacent Jazz lounge by the musician it is named after. Just happened... More

Both the service and the food were uneven. It took a while for us to get our first round of drinks. Appetizers were slow in coming out as well. But after that, service was as one would expect. Our appetizers (crab cakes, oysters, and seafood Remoulade) and desserts (hazelnut brownie and Louisiana spice cake) were all very good. But the... More

I had dinner one night by myself and enjoyed oysters and a great pasta bowl while listening to live "Club Style" type jazz music. Really nice and all with great quality including the service.

Dined here before heading to Preservation Hall on the advice of our concierege and we're so glad we did! It was a classy elegant atmosphere but it didn't feel obnoxious or stuffy in the least. I got the Filet Mignon, my wife got the red fish. Both were perfection! Cooked perfectly, everything was delicious! High quality meats, fish, and vegetables,... More

We went here to celebrate my 30th birthday on Saturday. The food was excellent and Jerome was the best waiter! He was extremely attentive and knowledgeable and really made the experience wonderful. We are planning our next trip to New Orleans and we will definitely stop by and see him!

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
