We found this on TripAdvisor and I can highly recommend the sandwich muffuletta with a drink or sangria to people watch and rest. It will fill you up and it comes with very helpful friendly staff

Amazing muffuletta like everyone said. I had no idea. Now I want more. Mimosa was great too.$6 cup of Mimosa to go, $5.99 for a quarter sandwich. Worth it for sure. I was originally going to get pizza, but this placed grabbed me.

Chef Juan & Antonia have created a restaurant in the French Market which truly tantalizes the taste buds with what may honestly be the BEST muffaletta in New Orleans! My other favorite sandwich is the Asiago Roast Beef Sandwich--so amazing that it defies description. Feel like cooling off with an incredible red or white sangria? Well, you're in luck at... More

My friend Ellen and I agreed this Muffuletta was the best sandwich either of us had ever had! The place is busy... always has a line... but it moves along. Try to go mid-afternoon. Alberto and his wife are awesome proprietors and go the extra yard to make their meals beautiful and delicioso!

The classic New Orleans olive salad, meat and cheese sandwich put in a hot press.....soooo good. A half will easily satisfy two for lunch. The location is a hole in the wall in the French Market and you can eat at their bar or take your meal over to a large communal table area in the market, all under cover.... More

Located in the French Market, this little booth offers a variety of Italian-inspired selections. Ordered the 1/4 muffaletta and it was delicious. Make sure you get a lot of napkins, this sandwich gets messy! Another couple ordered ahead of me, and got the wine and cheese platter. It looked unbelievable. I will need to try that next time. Not super-cheap,... More

OMG. I had the Manchego Cheese plate with grapes, strawberries and bread. It was so good. Our group also had the Reuben and Philley Cheese steak sandwich. Both were delightful. Almost didn't try it because I was expected a restaurant type atmosphere. This is a small place in the French Market. Glad I did.

Asked advice from a vendor at the French Market & they recommended Alberto's. Looked unassuming but the food, service & prices were fantastic! Had the goat cheese salad (loaded with both creamy & hard goat cheese, pecans, apple, cherry tomatoes & the freshest salad greens) with balsamic dressing and a muffuletta sandwich crammed with salami, cheese, fresh olives then toasted... We stopped in and tasted several cheeses and decided on a cheese plate and the red sangria. So good. I hate that I did not get the lady at the counters name. She was so helpful. She allowed us to taste a few of the cheeses before we decided on what we wanted. She was suggestive in what we might... More

I LOVE this stop in the market? I visit nola 2-3x a year and make sure I always stop by. The wife always remembers me when I come. It feels like coming home ever time I visit. Everyone I have brought or sent here agrees. Best Muffaletta ever!

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
