I simply cannot say enough positive things about La Boulangerie! This is a cozy, intimate and incredibly delicious bakery in New Orleans!! This is hands-down the most authentic French pastries I have had outside of Paris! The folks here are very friendly and welcoming, offer wonderful customer service with a smile! Located on Magazine St. in a good neighborhood in... More

I walked a mile or so to get to LA Boulangerie. It was worth it!!! A huge variety of pastries and they are very fresh. I had cupcakes, they were the best I've had in a while. Definitely check this place out, you won't regret it!

The most delicious patisserie in town! Breakfast will be unforgettable but thousands of calories to burn after.

My husband and 2 yr old had lunch there. The service was fantastic and friendly. The food was even better. I had the best turkey sandwich I've had in my life. I ordered from the board but had them put in on baguette instead. They use a delicious dijon type mustard that was incredible. We had quiche which was great,... More

My wife and I are from out of town. This restaurant/bakery is casual and friendly. I thought the coffee was perfect and the apple cheese Danish was delicious. There are outside tables for two that was pleasant for watching people.

A lot of people had said a lot of good things about La Boulangerie so I decided to try it out. Overall, they provide good sandwiches, nice desserts, and nice service and atmosphere. The prices are a little high, so expect to pay a higher price for the food. I got the spinach stromboli, which was good and flavorful, a... More

Wonderful ham and cheese or chicken and mushroom pastries. Perhaps the best bread pudding I have ever had (eat your heart out Mr. B's Bistro). Apple turnovers are delightful and the coffee is excellent. It is not cheap but perfection rarely is

Great French bakery. There is a great aroma of fresh bread being baked any time you enter the place. They have a great selection of pastries as well. They also have a small selection of sandwishes. I always eat a napoleon when I visit there. It is made extremely well and not too sweet (as most of them are). I... More

Ate breakfast here 2 days in a row. They have savory, as well as sweet pastries. The ham and cheese croissant is very good, as well as the chocolate almond croissant. I ordered a few things to go, and their bread pudding is outstanding! Cappuccino not too bad, either. Would definitely go back when in area again.

This very open and friendly restaurant is nice for a quick lunch or bakery stop. Food was good to very good, but a bit overpriced for an informal lunch stop. We had some issues with trying to phone our order in so we stopped and the wait was not long. There is plenty of space between tables and we were... More

Staying in Uptown / Carrollton

Neighbourhood Profile
Uptown / Carrollton
Very much their own self sufficient unit within the greater metro area, Uptown and Carrollton tone down the urban edge with a friendly attitude and collegiate feel. Home to Tulane and Loyola Universities, all the students living in the area ensure that Uptown and Carrollton stay youthful, cosmopolitan and vibrantly fun. Two of the liveliest thoroughfares for nightlife and socializing (and yes of course more of the city’s outstandingly good food and live music) are Oak Street and Maple Street. For a truly wild time, the expansive acreage of Audubon Park, with its zoo, golf course, and actual patches of swampy wetlands, means peace and quiet are never too far away.
