Well worth the trek from downtown, we enjoyed lunch on the veranda. A varied menu with items in a broad price range. I enjoyed the gumbo and especially my fried oyster poorboy.

We had dinner at the Audubon Golf Clubhouse (otherwise known as The Clubhouse at Audubon Park) for dinner as part of the New Orleans COOLINARY. We ate on the outside balcony overlooking the golf course with the oaks and a view of Loyola University in the background. The food was truly awesome and the service even better thanks to Keith... Visiting the Audubon Clubhouse is a definite must! The food is some of the best I've had, we sat outside on the porch and the marvelous view/mushroom risotto convinced us to come back a few days later for lunch! Will definitely be frequenting.

Not just a golfer's delight, this locally know cafe is open to the public and has a huge following! It is casually romantic for a twosome and serves brunch, lunch, or dinner. We have also enjoyed the cafe for holiday brunch when we do not feel like cooking, so our whole family, young & old, partake in the chef's creations.... More

As always, we enjoyed our meal. But there is no place better to sit outside on the veranda, look at the gorgeous, ancient oaks and the rolling greens, and sip iced tea, or at other times, a great martini. Today it's cool, but there's always shade on the porch. We would be glad if breakfast were offered again. Now there's... More

Had lunch at the Audubon Park Clubhouse while waiting for the rain to end. The food in my opinion was above average for a golf clubhouse. My only complainant is the service was very slow.

We had lunch in this restaurant while walking through Audubon Park, since it seemed to be the only place in the neighbourhood. The restaurant is located next to the golf course, and the terrace gives a nice view over the golf course and the park. The atmosphere is good, the food OK. Service was slow.

We were four for Sunday brunch overlooking the live oaks and beautiful landscaping. The chicken and andouille sausage gumbo was amazing, made with dark roux. My salad was delicious, so crisp and fresh.

We were walking in Audubon Park as an escape from the noise, dirt and crowds of the French Quarter when we discovered this lovely spot for lunch. In contrast to some of the other reviews we had terrific food, excellent service, pleasant seating on the porch overlooking the golf course and reasonable prices compared to what we had seen elsewhere... Staying in Uptown / Carrollton

Neighbourhood Profile
Uptown / Carrollton
Very much their own self sufficient unit within the greater metro area, Uptown and Carrollton tone down the urban edge with a friendly attitude and collegiate feel. Home to Tulane and Loyola Universities, all the students living in the area ensure that Uptown and Carrollton stay youthful, cosmopolitan and vibrantly fun. Two of the liveliest thoroughfares for nightlife and socializing (and yes of course more of the city’s outstandingly good food and live music) are Oak Street and Maple Street. For a truly wild time, the expansive acreage of Audubon Park, with its zoo, golf course, and actual patches of swampy wetlands, means peace and quiet are never too far away.
