Yummy! One of the best meals I had in Nola! The blue crab beignet and butterscotch pudding are musts!

To be candidly honest, we stopped going to this restaurant several years ago as the food was just too trendy for me. With Pascal Manaul, La Crepe Nanou and Upperline which have better menus close by, it just doesn't work for me, but my wife still likes it. My wife always liked it more than I as it was so... More

Four of us shared crab beignets, marinated octopus salad, duck confit, deviled eggs, ricotta dumplings, excellent French bread and great service. We also shared the pudding dessert- not really a pudding consistency and it was EXCELLENT. the crab beignets...I could have them again and again.

What an absolutely lovely place. We loved every aspect of our evening there. We were warmly greeted and welcomed, and found the space to be so comfortable and very lovely. It wasn't to noisy, despite being completely full. The tables are not packed too closely together... I liked that. Our waitress was amazing... Mariselle? Very helpful, very professional, very knowledgable... More

Had a wonderful dinner for four with our teenagers during the first weekend of Mardi Gras. A little challenging to get here with much of Magazine Street blocked for parades, but glad we persisted. Funky and eclectic cocktails (heavy on the whiskey/rye which suits me perfectly). Appetizers were delicious (perfectly fried oysters, a stuffed clams special, the blue crab beignets),... More

We were invited to this restaurant on the bustling Magazine Street on a Friday evening. The food was fabulous! The wine list impressive. You must check it out. Charming décor too.

La Petite Grocery never disappoints! We've dined for lunch several times and have always experienced delicious food and wonderful service. Everything we've ordered has been fabulous. In particular, the blue crab beignets and homemade tagliatelle pasta with peas in a tasty butter sauce were out of this world. There are many windows in the restaurant, the atmosphere is nice and... The staff was friendly and accommodating. My wife and I dined along with another couple for dinner on a Saturday evening. Things started well. We arrived separately and early but were seated. We ate the beef short rib, crab beignets, scallops, and pork cheek appetizers. They were all very good. We were anticipating a great meal. I'm not sure if... More

Bloody Mary's are my vice but the one at La Petite is a long way from being Criminal, absolutely spectacular. Ask for the Big Red Hammer! They serve it with a fork to eat the shrimp, crab and pickled vegetables that serve as garnishes. The food is perfect for brunch whether you choose the best shrimp and grits in Nola, according... More

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
