We were in New Orleans for a catering conference and for lunch one day we decided on the ugly dog saloon. We walked over from the convention center and they had a pretty good lunch rush. We placed our order and received the standard pager and was told to wait. We had 4 in our party and found a seat... More

I was in town for a conference and alone for dinner on Saturday night. The other nearby restaurants were busy so I walked over here. It was pretty dead so I sat at the bar. I had 1/2 rack of ribs with coke slaw, and an amber ale on tap. The ribs were good, but not hot (temperature). The Cole... More

This is a cute place just down from the WWI Museum and has a great atmosphere. The food is good, beer was cold and good service.

We came in starved and learned they had a variety of appetizers for half-price, so we tried almost everything. The chicken quesadillas were very good, the nachos soggy, but otherwise good, the tacos also good....staff was friendly & helpful but food service was fairly slow (30 min)

Nice relaxed atmosphere and good food. It was loud and bustling! The jambalaya was just okay...definitely get the barbecue!

So, my son and I stumbled upon this after the WWII museum. It is nothing fancy, but the food was very good. We ordered the lunch half rack of ribs, slaw and cheddar biscuit. Everything was perfect, the meat came right off the bone. Great spot for a quick lunch. Enjoy!

My husband and I wanted a quick lunch before we went to the WWII museum and this was in walking distance. I wasn't expecting much but this place was great. The only let down was the fried pickles where not fried enough and they where out of brisket. But I had the pulled pork with Mac and cheese which I... More

Some of the best bar-b-que I have ever had. The cole slaw and beans were great too! Friendly staff and a couple pool tables where everyone can have a good time with great food.

Had Lunch You order at the bar - sit at picnic tables - sort of an outdoor atmosphere indoors. Great pulled pork! Very good coleslaw - different from anywhere else. Better than average! Staff very friendly!

Staying in Arts District / Warehouse District

Neighbourhood Profile
Arts District / Warehouse District
Once a thriving industrial zone, today this district is home to a buzzing arts scene with an amazing assortment of galleries, boutiques, and studios having moved in and set up shop throughout the disused warehouses for which the area is so well known. Much of the art you'll come across here is local in scope, ownership and inspiration. However, among the many old brick warehouses are modern structures of steel and glass housing large-scale cultural institutions of national prominence such as the National World War II Museum, the Contemporary Arts Center, and the Ogden Museum of Southern Art. Just as eye catching as what’s on view inside the galleries and museums is the chance to see your ship come in at the Julia Street Cruise Terminal, which serves as a wistful reminder of the city’s historic maritime prominence.
