This restaurant was recommended by one of the Hotel staff. It was getting late and we arrived pretty late. There wasn't a line outside as there was at some of the other restaurants. We just walked in and it's a very quaint place. There wasn't a real waiting area and the place was super crowded with about two other groups... More

I know this is going to sound crazy, but the Praline Connection at the New Orleans airport has great food! Yes, at the airport. They fry the chicken up fresh when you order it. They have wings and livers and both are outstanding. Also, the Mac and cheese is awesome! It's located in the Southwest Airlines terminal tucked in a... More

Got the taste of soul platter. Sooo yummy! Had a little taste of everything. Not quite big enough to share but almost too big for one person. Staff was extremely friendly. Would definitely recommend.

The food was ok. Some of it even good. But a lot of it was mediocre at best. Service was painfully slow. Ribs were tasty. Jambalaya was good - the first time. When I ordered more, what came out looked and tasked completely different. I wanted to ask the waiter about it, but never saw him again. Gumbo was "meh".... More

As a fan of our ribs and first order of jambalaya, it's disappointing to hear about how the rest of your meal went. It's clear that there was something off about the gumbo and the second order of jambalaya, so I wish you did have a chance to speak with your waiter. You should always expect attentive service here in... More

We happened to be on Frenchmen Street on the evening that this restaurant was closed for a private Christmas celebration. As I entered through the door unawares, one of the owners stopped my husband and explained that this was a private party. As my husband retorted "well, we can be private people" that witty comment got us an invitation to... More

Ah yes, I remember your husband quite well. Sharp guy, he is. Well, I'm glad you two "private people" enjoyed the gumbo -- it's a huge compliment you both considered ours the best. While the holidays are over, I look forward to welcoming you two back. All the best, Curtis Owner More

We went in for a late breakfast but Praline Connection only had a lunch menu. We found attractive options and we were rewarded with simple but well-made food. It came super quickly, which was great since we were very hungry. The service was very attentive. The prices are somewhat on the expensive side for what remains a no-frills meal in... More

I was told to visit this restaurant. And was met with no disappointment. I ordered the Plate of Soul food. File gumbo, red beans & rice, greens, fried chicken, fried catfish, ribs. Oh my! It was hot & delicious. Well worth the visit. The hostess was very delightful but took a minute for someone to wait on us.

It's awesome we could live up to your recommendation! I'm thrilled everything from the file gumbo to the ribs was spot on -- looks like you made the right choice with the Plate of Soul. I hope we'll get a chance to see you again next time you're around. All the best, Curtis Owner More

Went on a recommendation and standing good reviews. Terrible service. Everyone working walking around with no one looking like they knew what they were doing. A large table got up and left after being seated and ignored for 15 mins. Smart choice. Stuffed crab was terrible, other dish ok. There are just to many good choices in this town for... More

I'm disappointed we failed to live up to your recommendation, Jay -- like you probably saw from past reviews, you should expect nothing short of attentive service and a delicious stuffed crab. I'm sorry that wasn't the case during your visit -- I know my team is much more capable than this. Sincerely, Curtis Owner More

Husband and I were visiting New Orleans over the new year and wanted a traditional New Year's Day meal. An uber driver suggested Praline Connection, and it did not disappoint. I had cabbage, collards, black-eyed peas, and corn bread. Husband added fried chicken to his meal. Everything was great. Cynthia, our server, was friendly and attentive. I also had a... More

Recently visited with my family, we had a smattering of things off the menu (shrimp po-boy, red beans and rice, crawfish etouffee, meatloaf, stuffed bell peppers, fried catfish, cornbread), it was all tasty. We missed out on the "original flavor" pralines since we were dining at a late hour and they had sold out, but they are delicious.

While you didn't get a chance to have our pralines, I'm thrilled you and your family really enjoyed our take on Cajun! Next time you're visiting family, I hope we'll get to welcome you back for more meatloaf, etouffee, and cornbread. All the best, Curtis Owner More
