Here in New Orleans for the first time, to visit with family and to do some historical and genealogical research. My cousin took us here for a late lunch and it was AWESOME. The service was quite professional and courteous. The atmosphere was friendly, and...More

I had been on Frenchmen Street before but had not eaten at Praline Connection. On this trip I made it a priority. So glad I did! The greens, the Mac & cheese and the fried crab were wonderful! I especially appreciated the greens and the...More

I'm just as glad you had a chance to stop by while on Frenchmen Street! It's wonderful the mac and cheese could truly impress, Marianne -- it's one of my favorites too. Hope the rest of your visit was just as relaxing. All the best,...More

There are too many good restaurants in the area to spend your money here. Service is just okay--staff not particularly professional and have no problem arguing with one another in front of customers. Fried chicken was incredibly greasy and overcooked. Can't recommend this place.More

This is a great restaurant at the foot of the French Quarters. They have a unique setup where there is a candy shop within the restaurant. I tried the vanilla, rum, and coconut pralines, and they were magnificent! For lunch I had a plate of...More

Should have known something was amiss upon entering! Staff looked unhappy and unorganized! Bad energy in the room. 50 minutes to be served drinks! Pork Chops, Fried Okra and Catfish were under-seasoned. Meat loaf served cold! Appetizers and entrees served at the same time! DISAPPOINTED!...More

They serve food until 23:30 on weekends. Best Po'Boys I had in Nola. Staff distracted by themselves at times. Try the Breadpudding for dessert

Curiously, like the previous reviewer, I had dry cornbread and mac and cheese that wasn't even lukewarm, but nearly cold. And having that cornbread served with a container of some sort of vegetable oil spread rather than butter was disappointing. But the food was tasty,...More

While the cornbread and mac n cheese didn't impress, I am glad the rest of your meal was enjoyable. Thanks for stopping by while in the area -- I hope you had a pleasant trip to NOLA. All the best, Curtis, Owner

This old fashioned soul food restaurant really knows how to fry up chicken and seafood. The red beans and rice and candied sweet potatoes were so good. I wasn't crazy about the dry corn bread and lukewarm mac and cheese but the stellar fried dishes...More

We stopped here because of its simple local diner-type appearance. While not starving, we decided to split a 'Taste of Soul' platter. We were assured that the serving would satisfy. We received the Gumbo starter, and the waitress also dropped off a Etouffee (not part...More
