We arrived here about 1:30 and were surprised by how busy it was. Tables were close together, making it difficult to carry on a conversation. I had the turkey po'boy and my husband had the reuben (both very good). Food was very good, service okay.

I had been craving a softshell crab po boy for the few days we were in NOLA. We went to Joey K's after seeing it on TV and they did not disappoint. You feel so welcomed here and the food was great! Reasonably priced as well. My husband is a picky eater and didn't have any issues finding something be... More

This restaurant was featured on Guy Fieri's Diner's Dives and Drive Ins so we checked it out. If you order fried chicken the menu warns you it will be a 20 minute wait. BUT, wow was it terrific!!! We ordered the extra large serving so we could take it home and have leftovers for breakfast. It was soooo good!!!

Travel to New Orleans often and we wanted to try somewhere that we hadn't been to before. Wish we had of picked another place. Service was okay, but the food was not good - not sure what others like about the place. Salad was just iceberg lettuce and dressing; mashed potatoes probably the worst I've had; mixed vegetables were terrible;... More

My meal, the Trout Tchoupitoulas was good. The highlight of my meal was the bread pudding. Delicious! If you don't have a sweet tooth, it may be too sweet for you. I love sweets and the bread pudding at Joey K's.

I actually walked past JoeyK's to stop somewhere prior, knowing I would eat there. It was in our plans. Someone sitting outside actually stopped our group to say, "This is th best place, don't keep on walking." Boy was he correct. This was THE best place I ate at during my entire stay in New Orleans! Our group tried the... More

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
