Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Doesn't matter wheres Dat! Doesn't matter how far! Contact Uber or Lyft. Doesn't matter the fee! Shut up and go.. and when your heading back from where you came fully content and sleepy from such excellent sustenance.... you can thank me for the time saved by not debating.

I wanted to support local during Quarantine and ordered “Da Crab Stack” and a small caramel cappuccino. The immediate entry vibes were delightful. The three gentleman working there were so humbled and sweet about me placing an order. I’m sure it is so hard for small Businesses during this time. I enjoyed the caramel cappuccino with extra caramel, it was delicious! The crab stack was okay in my opinion as I’m a local New Orleanian lady and like food seasoned to perfection. I could taste more onion and I don’t particularly care for fried green tomatoes. My crabmeat sauce was a little thick like soupy not fine like gumbo consistency. Overall I would definitely come back and try something else because they were super nice! Also the plate had a side of fresh fruit which was very nice as well.

Marigny has many unique, eclectic spots for coffee and breakfast. Eleven to be exact. Who Dat is the jewel of these experiences. Situated on the corner just down from the fantastic Peter and Paul Hotel, it welcomes you with outside seating with large umbrellas, a placard of the specials of the day and a door inside to more seating as well as a fully stocked display of delicious pastries, cakes, fresh fruit and a fantastic coffee bar with no detail unattended.
The stations from host to cooks to waiters, barista and service staff are all attended by long time employees. A sign of quality management. The food is well thought out from basics to New Orleans specific items. The coffee is of the finest quality. Absolutely satisfying from the simple to the intricate. They get it right. Even the average, plain coffee is special. Even the decaf. Absolutely perfectly prepared and served by attentive waiters that have personality, skill and are fun.
Being a tourist you can expect a delightful experience. Being a local you can expect your selections and names to be remembered.
This is a well run place full of laughs and characters you’ll remember just like the coffee and cuisine. A wonderful find in a perfect place.

I thought I'd love this place, but overall it was a little bit of a downer. We sat outside which was nice. They advertised coffee cocktails. I didn't have a menu of these and when I asked the waiter explained one option while talking with his hand over his mouth. I thought it would be a real Irish coffee. I should have asked him to repeat clearly. It was basically a milkshake - baileys, chocolate, sweet, sweet. When I went inside later I saw an entire menu of coffee cocktails. I was disappointed to not be offered a menu to select from or to have the waiter speak clearly the first time around. I also ordered the french onion soup. The onions were almost completely dissolved (I didn't know this was possible) so the soup had little texture in that way. The bread wasn't the best - it got so soggy as to be like soggy cotton rather than a dense bread soaked in the broth. Anyway, the expectations failed in execution.
I don't know if I found overall the staff and ambience to be that great either, unfortunately. Upon return to the area this wouldn't be on my list for a repeat.

Food and Bloody Mary’s were great. Took a while to get a server but after that he was attentive and fun. Tables are outside and we were seated under a big tree where we were bombarded with bird droppings. We asked both our server and the man running the place if we could move somewhere else and were informed that we were being hit with deposits from the tree and not from the bird (I don’t think so!) and there was no where else to move. Great breakfast but stay clear of the tree!

We were staying at Hotel Peter & Paul, just over the road. This place was recommended to us by the hotel and some local reviews. After a friendly welcome, we were sat outside - don’t expect a seat inside or a sunny seat on a warm day unless you get there early! We chose several dishes from the menu and enjoyed them all - I had the Cajun omelette, packed with flavour. The service was really good and the place has a great laid back feel. A great place to stop if you’re passing and worth a walk if you’re not.

We had breakfast and the tough thing was to choose. My wife went crab cakes with eggs and I went for the corn cakes covered in sauce, cheese and bacon. They were sensational although I’d say that I won! Very clean, lots of friendly staff and a lovely vibe.

Before leaving for the airport, my husband and I went to Who Dat for breakfast. Wow. The food was so good. My scrambled eggs with veggies and cheese hit the spot. The portion was not very big and easy to finish. My husband’s omelette of meat and cheese was a perfect portion for breakfast. The potatoes were flavorful. Our many cups of coffee got us through our long trip home. Who Dat knows what they’re doing in feeding its customers.

We ate here 3 times during our week long Mardi Gras visit . Would have been 4 times but the line was out the door on our last day. Each time even though packed and extremely busy the staff and the food were both exceptional. There is both indoor and outdoor sidewalk seating . The menu is not the usual breakfast fare , there are many dishes we wanted to try . Had the Cajun Scramble, The Corn Cakes, The Veggie Quiche and tried a couple of the Omelettes . We will be back during Jazz Fest for sure !

Holy Cow! This restaurant is adorable and in the heart of the Bywater neighborhood of New Orleans. Lots of outdoor and indoor seating. Coffee was delicious. Staff was nice. GET. THE. CORN CAKES! The 2.5 mile walk back to the business district was a must after this heavy meal, but not only were they delicious and perfectly cooked, but they were reasonably priced and kept me full until dinner. I had never been to Who Dat Coffee Cafe before this visit, but after eating here, it certainly won't be my last

Early morning brekkie joy! This spot was just down the block from our hotel so it seemed to be the most logical place to go for our cup of coffee on our first morning in NO. We were so pleased that
In addition to the coffee we had the pleasure of a choice of “bene’s” and other Southern dishes. Service was wonderful and the local scene was sublime.

This cute shop had exceptional brunch and friendly service. In addition to coffee and breakfast cocktails, each of the specialty breakfast items looked spectacular. We enjoyed cornbread cakes and crab breakfast pie. We will definitely go again!

A group of friends traveled to NOLA for the New Orleans Book Festival at Tulane. We stayed just a block away and walked here for breakfast on the patio every morning. We found friendly service, great coffee, and a locally unique menu. It seems our mutual favorite was “Da Greek Omelette,” but I also enjoyed the corn cakes with a rich egg sauce sprinkled with chopped bacon and green onions, excellent but good to share. Quick, friendly, delicious - exactly what we wanted to start our day.

Who Dat is a casual cafe in the Marigny neighborhood, on the corner near Hotel Peter and Paul. They have a wide variety of delicious egg dishes. After breakfast here, you won't need to eat lunch!

Faubourg Marigny
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny.
