Just about every year or so the Rib Room gets a new chef. Had a very pleasant experience the other evening. Turtle soup was excellent. I'm always on the hunt for a great prime rib. Always come down to how well it is herb encrusted....More

Food great but service was extremely slow! Very disappointing especially when you have a reservation! With all the good restaurants in NO, not worth the wait!

Like others I wish there were in between ratings because I'd give this one 3 1/2. The point is the prime rib was not only the featured star item, there wasn't much else to write home about. Both the menu cut prime rib and the...More

This is one of the best restaurants for steak, ribs, hamburger in New Orleans. You need to know what to order from the menu. Stay with the "meats" dishes and you won't be disappointed. We had the best braised short rib sandwich for lunch ever!...More

Prime rib here was excellent. Service slightly disappointing with waiter not being clear that he wanted to close the bill (tip) and finish his shift. Otherwise pleasant and accommodating staff and wonderful surroundings. Watty

My wife and I stayed at the Omni Royal in New Orleans and ate at the Rib Room, the hotel's restaurant. In a word, it was terrible. The specialty is prime rib and it was barely edible. It was salty and apparently brined in some...More

French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living

Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port
of call for folks in search of a good time and a great

across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied
around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively
well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the

Emotions seem to run high after dining here, one way or the other, which is not the norm for The Big Easy.

About the only thing going for this restaurant is the formal surroundings, so you are unlikely to feel comfortable if you are dressed very casually. Since casual is the norm in 90% of the city, just select your dining... More

For 50 years The Rib Room has enjoyed its reputation for outstanding food and service. Patrons have found the massive windows facing Royal Street the perfect backdrop for Crescent City dining. The woody, Old English atmosphere and high ceiling invite guests to sit back and stay awhile. The softly lit and equally comfortable Rib Room bar offers the ideal setting for sophisticated beverages and extensive wine cellar selections. In the restaurant's wine cellar, diners requiring privacy may choose from the "Pipkin", "Wine Cellar", or "Roundtable" rooms, perfect for small gatherings; each discreetly removed from the main dining floor. On the upper level of the Rib Room we feature a private room for groups up to 40 guests. Winner of the prestigious Zagat Award, The Rib Room offers classics such as slow roasted prime rib of beef, aged steaks, fresh Louisiana seafood, and champagne brunch on Sunday.
