I was in town for a big company event. As soon as the big boss learned that I was a semi-native (proud Tulanian!), he asked me where we should go with the team, but it has to be in the French Quarter. Well, the Quarter is a great place, but there are also plenty of dives and tourist traps that... More

another recommendation for lunch this quirkey little building designed to be napoleons home when he got out of prison this place is seeped in history. the po'boy sandwich did not disappoint and are waiter was super efficient and very very kind. he even got the manager to give a tour of the upstairs apartment and banquet facility

Heads up: I am a New Orleanian and have visited this bar restaurant since of legal age. This is a landmark once planed by the Mayor to be a refuge for none other than Napoleon, hence the name. The drinks are well mixed, the menu limited but a great place to scent a slice of history, have a drink, have... More

WE went in for a quick drink so we can say we went to the oldest bar in NOLO. The bartender was super sweet and made an amazing drink (Pimms Cub Original) . Cute place to take pictures. We did not eat there, just had a drink but was worth a visit

Food was good, from the gumbo to the sandwiches. The menu is limited, but well-executed. Our server was short, but who knows how others might be.

We were staying in NOLA for a week and trying to do all the tourist things, as one of our group was visiting for the first time. We set up a schedule of must things to do. One of them was the Napoleon House. We enjoyed a nice lunch with drinks. There was a couple of girls sitting near us... More

This restaurant was recommended by our walking tour guide and we had dinner here (muffuletta salad, jambalaya, red beans with sausage & rice, cassata) The food was great, the atmosphere was nice and the service was good. We also tried the Pimm's cup. Good food, inexpensive.

The Napoleon House was recommended to us as having the best muffuletta in town. We went for lunch and the menu shows a whole serves 2 and a half serves one but the sandwich is huge. Our waitress recommended a half for the two of us and then a side of either jambalya or red beans & rice which is... More

So did it live up to the hype? Yes. We had a great time. Loved the front room old world ambiance. Pimms were good (not like sitting by the Thames at Richmond UK) for stateside and mufflalettas were excellent. When it arrived warm I was really concerned as it seemed so weird but on tasting it I wasn't disappointed. Really... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
