We to New Orleans on 7 Dec 16 too early to check in to our hotel. We decided to see some of the New Orleans sites and happened upon Port of Call (which was on our list of places to visit). We entered the bar and ordered a Neptune's Monsoon, typhoon and burger. The staff was friendly, and the drinks... More

Sat at a bar end of Bourbon Street ( like you do ) had been walking around and wanted to rest a while, the barman was lovely so we asked 'where could we get a great meal on Bourbon Street' he told us that he had worked on Bourbon Street over 10 years and never ate there!! He told us... More

We'd been recommended this place by a lady we met who was a regular visitor to NOLA. She said, if you want a decent steak or a burger, try Port of Call. We were staying in the French Quarter so it wasn't too far to walk. The place is very busy so we had to wait to be seated, probably... More

We decided to try this place based on a recommendation from a local couple. Easy to find on Esplanade , we just popped in . There was a wait for tables but luckily there was room at the bar . I got their Huma Huma cocktail, served in a large plastic souvenir cup , very delish . Menu is simple... More

Had lunch at Port of Call on Tuesday January 3rd. We spent the morning at the French Market and then walked to Port of Call for lunch. We had the cheese burger and baked potatoe, both were superb. There were lots of locals eating lunch here which is always a good sign. We would definetly return on a future trip.

I know I'm going to ping some people's radar when I say EPIC and RIDICULOUS, but oh holy cow "Port O, Call! Burger with cheddar medium, loaded baked potato, & get a monsoon for your drink!" was one of the best culinary adventures of my "Birthday Part Deux!" The other suggestion of "Uber and a nap" isn't too far from... More

Long wait, but worth it. A real down home local place. Great burger. It has renewed my taste for baked potatoes and butter!

Amazing!!! This was recommended by a local. The menu was limited to steaks and burgers but, what else would you need? There was a wait for a table, but that's normal with great food. Portions were large. The burger was huge, juicy, fresh, and cooked to perfection! Burger and steak both served with baked potatoes. They have a few signature... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
