My wife and I had lunch here today and throughly enjoyed it. I started with the cauliflower hummus. My wife was hesitant to try it because it has cauliflower in it but I convinced her to try it and she ate a good bit of it herself. It is delicious and does not have a strong cauliflower taste. My wife... More

A friend and I recently traveled to New Orleans to see a Saints / Denver NFL game. As it was my birthday soon, my oldest son sent me a gift certificate to the Bourbon House seafood bar and restaurant, a place he had been at a couple times while in New Orleans. On Saturday night after strolling Bourbon Street and... More

This is an overpriced place with terrible food. I ordered fired oysters and was served a plate of burned to black oysters. The replacement plate wasn't much better and my companion's shrimp wasn't much better although they were at least not burned black. A gentleman at a nearby table stopped me on the way out and said his grilled oysters... More

Second time in past three months to visit! Service is outstanding! Wonderful Caesar salad, homemade anchovy dressing. Fabulous burger, delicious oysters with crab meat, and cauliflower hummus are highly recommended.

LOVED this place. The BBQ shrimp PoBoy was not at all what I was expecting (as a Texan) but it was awesome. I got the frozen bourbon milk punch because why not. Delicious, though you have to be in the mood of basically a milk shake. I had a Pappy Van Winkle 15 yr, which was special as those who... More

They were terrific, as was the catfish po'boy. We were a group that sat at the bar and interacted with the oyster shuckers. Great fun!

This is a lovely restaurant with over 200 bourbons, - so we had to try a drink. I had a smooth bourbon, I think it was Angel's something (I'm not that familiar with bourbons) and Joey had a bourbon milk punch. Of course, his tasted like a milkshake! Mine was nice - I think I still prefer scotch, but it... More

First off, if you want just about any Bourbon, this is the place. I had the delicious Pappy (12yr) and we got a dozen oysters. Oysters were super good and tasty, albeit a bit small and the Pappy's...well of course...legendary. Nice counter spot by the window with great people watching. A must visit spot in NOLA.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
