I googled the place and went based on the good reviews without realizing it was a white tablecloth kind of dinner. We showed up with our 5 year old and the waitress looked at him like he was a bug to be squashed. We ordered the filet mignon with debris and it was cooked to perfection. I may return just... More

Wow. My mother has been talking about K-Paul’s for over 25 years and I now know why. Paul Prudhomme, who fused elements of Cajun and Creole cuisine and brought them to the American consciousness, ensured that his restaurant puts out the best possible food without wavering on quality. His family staff have continued to hold his standards high. Everybody and... More

My wife and I vacation in New Orleans twice a year. With the many very fine restaurants to choose from, K-Pauls Louisiana Kitchen remains on the top of our fine dining list. We dine there every trip, usually the very first night because we just can't wait. The atmosphere is casually elegant, the service is impeccable, but it's all about... More

So many choices for great food in Nawlins. We did select a new, hot restaurant with great buzz, and hated the vibe, the menu and the $25 cocktails. We decided to try to get a reservation at K Paul's and were happy to wait until 9:30. What a wonderful reception when we arrived. Magnificent food, upscale without the attitude, and... More

When in New Orleans and especially if you are staying in the French quarter, this is an excellent eatery named after a legendary cook. Great restaurants pop up in New Orleans all the time. This one has lasted. I am a New Orleanians and always enjoy a cup of Chicken and Andouille Gumbo when visiting NO. My favorite entrees include... More

Had dinner here with a group in town for a conference. Taste of the food was incredible! My main course was the drum fish, which ranked up there with the best fish I have ever eaten. My appetizer was fried oysters, which was a fun dish. Dessert was a delicious bread pudding. Since we were a private party we were... More

My husband and I ate here a little over a week ago during a long weekend in New Orleans. The ambiance is quite nice and we really expected some good things here. However, it did not quite meet up to our expectations. One reason is the size of shrimp used in their dishes. I would think seafood is abundant in... More

The Jambalaya appetizer is not on the menu, asked for it and got it. This was great, pretty spicy and went well with a Stella Artois. We all got some blackened dish as that is their signature cooking method, and I was disappointed. You could not even taste the spices, was bland.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
