Excellent meal at the end of a trip where we ate our way through New Orleans so you know the bar was set very high. There was a nice mixture of local and classic dishes as some of our party wanted something a little less regional. Lamb shank, steak, and fish were all well prepared. Service was excellent.

Ye Olde College Inn has been around for many decades serving reasonably priced New Orleans cuisine in the Carrollton area. Pre-Katrina, you could always get well-prepared classic poor-boys, a good plate of red beans and rice, or nice fried chicken in an unpretentious setting. Re-invented post-Katrina, College Inn has eliminated its local classics and now offers a somewhat gussied up... More

Outstanding food served in an authentic restaurant. There is nothing pretentious about this place but the food is top notch. From lamb shank and paneed veal to crawfish etouffee and nicely done duck breast, everything was enjoyable. They make a decent Sazerac cocktail, too!

This is one of the best meals I've had in New Orleans, and that's saying a lot. The fish was amazing, the sides were perfectly prepared, the desert was impeccable...totally worth every penny!

Ye Olde College in has stepped up since Katrina, from an octogenarian's hangout to a fine restaurant. This visit started out with a positively knockout Old Fashioned (me) and a good pinot noir (she). An "Oysters Bleu" ($12) was stunningly generous and very good. The gumbo was very dark, but not at all bitter, the flavor was rich and delicious.... More

The food and service here were excellent Had the Gumbo and Crawfish ettouffee with fried drum which were great. Our waiter had worked there for twenty years and showed dedication to the restaurant. Was full of locals on a Tuesday nite which speaks volumes. Skip the French quarter for something just as good for half the price.

This is a marvelous restaurant that is slightly off the beaten path. We discovered it in an article "where the locals eat" and were not disappointed. It is a very nicely appointed panelled dining room with booths and tabels. The wait staff could not have been more helpful and flexible. The menu is American and Creole. The shrimp dishes were... Favorite restaurant in New Orleans. Nice sized portions and so very accommodating. Made up a vegan pasta dish (see photo) that was very innovative and beyond delicious. Service was great and Jordan (who I think is the manager) was very helpful and kind. Went there twice on our trip.

This restaurant is located right next to the Rock n bowl and was beautifully decorated. We called to ask if we needed reservations and were told no but when we got there, it was a 30 min. wait to be seated. Once we were seated the service was great ad the food was good. The portion for the veal cutlet... More

I spent a little time this evening figuring out that some of these reviews are for a restaurant at the airport (perhaps a branch of this one?) - but this particular restaurant is opposite the Rock 'n Bowl in town. That said, I'd give it my highest rating. Took our family of five, without reservation, and had to wait half... More
